How are the A6 transmissions holding up?

Will they handle a decent amount of power? Is there a glaring weakness? What are your opinions?

Just over a 1000 miles on my Kenne Bell boosted ride and the A6 is going strong. I haven't done any launches from 0 mph, though. But I've taken off from 5 mph several times.

just be sure to upgrade your A6 tranny cooler. the extra cooling capacity will do the tranny justice.

check out my thread in the tranny section of the forum. I recently upgraded mine with a pretty nice cooler.

I have read the tranny will hold up fine to 550rwhp. Fastlane uses a stock A6 with just a converter and it does 10's.

I am sitting at 553 rwhp, still with stock tires and she is running great!!! I took the car out to the drag strip this past weekend. My single best time was a 7.76 @ 93.73mph with a 60 ft. of 1.914. With the supercharger and street tires, I could not launch the car hard AT ALL, so I had to baby the gas pedal to hook. But once it hoked, it was on like Donkey Kong. I hope to get some drag radials soon, to see what she can really do... My trans temps stayed between 180 and 200 all day. I plan on putting a trans cooler to help out, but Andy at ADM keeps a spare trany around just in case.

I WISH that it was a 1/4 mile time, but of course it was only the 1/8th mile. I think I would have to install a few other small mods to get there.

A6 here with 510 rwhp and 8 lbs of boost running street tires. Trany in doing great. It was tuned with the SC. 1st gear to 5500 rpm --- tap shift to 2nd --- gets 20 ft of rubber for real with all traction control and the ass kicks around a little --- more rubber if I am only at 1/4 tank of gas --- a lot of fun. PM if you have questions.
