Any pedders insight on the new alpha platform?

This GM executive, if he is not fired, sounds like he wants to take GM towards where most car buying people want to be. He helped build my confidence that GM will build the Z28 and that it will have a strong enough small block V8 to compete with the other big dogs. My confidence in GM has been strong enough for me to have placed a deposit on a Z28 last month. Although it is still just a mythical creature known only to the GM gods, I still feel confident that GM will not let me down.

Im lovin it, not exactly seeing Cadillac as being a leading performance division though but hey, i guess there's just not a lot of room for pure luxury these days.

Im wondering about these outgoing goals GM is trying to set. Cadillac besting BMW, Chevy interiors matching Audi? Bring back Pontiac and make them a high performance/low luxury division and id be all for it haha. Im just concerned with the price of the "new GM", BMW grade Cadillacs and Audi grade interiors are nice and all, but while i can re-set my idea of quality for GM im not going to re-set my idea of price. GM has and always should be a company for the masses. Do what you will but keep prices in check please.

On a Z/28 note, i think GM should continue the theme they've set here with their "above and beyond" mind set. Who says the Z/28 should be set at, or a notch above, the GT500? Hell shoot for the moon, set it up against a big name Euro car. Now maybe not a high scale Ferrari or Lambo, leave that to the Vette, but i hear Porsche is looking for a new villain ;-)

...*yawwwn* Okay seriously, HOW long have we been saying its "dead?" and HOW long have we still seen fresh, brand new LS7s being dropped into Corvettes? There's no reason to kill it, its still selling, everyone still loves it, and it makes great power with great mileage. I love the LS7 and until the engine stops production im not listening to the "killing" rumors, be it "official news" or just campfire tales....

Not for me , My money has better things to do.

Alpha = be careful what you wish for. I like the size of the f5, the reason I dropped my 2kss b/c I feel safer in the ZETA.
