total $260.520.000 right there.

7800 is a good number to start, lets see how many of the pre-orders go to complete sale. Just like the challengers. They were all spoken for , then almost 20% went unsold.

I dumbfounds me that people will order a car, that they have no seen, let alone test driven.

GM wants to average 100,000 units per year. No need to order 4 months ahead. I am sorry, but why? I know everyone is excited and have been waiting since 02'. I have been. I had to buy a C5 just to keep the smile on my face that I lost when my 1LE was destroyed.

I am the proud past owner of 4 Camaros all Z28s and one 1LE (real one, not an SLP clone) So I will be buying an SS LT. But I want to see the car and drive it first.

This car went to production in record time. There is going to be problems. Anyone else waiting to see what the gremlins are going to bring?

Just venting, IMHO.

But dealers are already making this a problem like the GTO. People do not have $35K to throw around right now. Even a $30k base SS is to high. Look at the Traverse. They are $36 now selling for $31 already.

GM need to get their act together soon.

I am not ordering now for a few reasons. First, I heard that later in the year you should be able to get a heads up display with the RS package. I want that.

Second, I wanna see the actual performance numbers for the stick, the auto and the add ons like cold air, headers and catback exhaust.

Wanna see the cost of these add ons also.

Also, by early summer I can compare the cost of the add ons to after market mods. See which is better bang for the buck. I dont wanna spend $2k+ for cold air, header and cat back for 25 hp. Would rather save the $2k and put it toward a super charger if the gains are minimal.

I also think GM will have the car on sale by April at 0% financing for like $32 for a 2SS. Since I am probably going with every upgrade (rims, interior trim, RS, hurst, maybe sun roof, stripes) I want to try a save something. I'd like to keep the car under $40K with tax and warrenty if possible.

While GM may run some incentives, don't count on 0% financing (or any other special financing deal) anytime soon. GM doesn't have nearly as much sway at GMAC as they used to (since it's not owned by them anymore) so they can't just declare that they're going to do it. They basically have to cut GMAC a check to offer those incentives and that's not likely to happen anytime in the near future. So you may get your 2ss as $32k (although I doubt you will within the next year), I reeeaaallly doubt you'll see 0% financing maybe ever again from GM.

Oh, I am not in a hurry. The cars will be all over the dealer's lots, collecting dust in July.

Pretty much all dealer stock will be V6 and relatively cheap, so don't bet on Camaro's collecting dust on the lots....

Sure, there probably will be some setting on a dealer lot somewhere....but MINE will be setting in my garage and I'll be damned if I will let one speck of dirt on her!!

Don't be haters if some of us buy now and want to enjoy this car. Sure, we're probably paying a bit more and yes, we will "take one for the team" on the early gremlins from production.....

You should thank us for doing that for you! Heck, you might even benefit buy finding one on a used lot by late summer when one of us trades for HUD or some other late breaking change.

Then again, maybe not! Maybe GM financial issues will prevent much change to this already GREAT car. We already know the drop-top is delayed.....but you know what, they 7801+ of us who've pre-ordered and have been driving our new 5th Gens will still have that shit-eating grin from ear to ear......

I for one am NOT waiting and look forward to whooping ass on the weekends of all those rice-burners and Ford POS mustangs.

the letters are important just like someone above said about the challengers how 20% of ordered went unsold. GM has to rebuild its brand customer contact along with a great car is a big part of that.

I agree that those of us that are ordering site-unseen are taking a risk. But that is a risk I am willing to take. I think this car is too high profile to come off the line with a bunch of gremlins. I just can't wait to get mine and I am willing to pay a little extra to get it as soon as possible. I applaud all those who can wait and they will probably be rewarded for their patience by a lower price. But the risk is that you don't get exactly what you want. Oh, I can't wait to get my letter!

Listen to what you are posting. GM has already announced they are tooled and supplied with parts for a 100,000 unit run. They will not be scarce. Even if 40% for those are V8s you are taking 40,000 V8s.

Again, I am no hater by far. I am going for one. The snow here melts in April. Buy then, all orders will be filled and new orders will be taken. Then in July/August they will have to ramp down production.

The Car is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!! But it is coming out 6 years too late and at a very wrong time. I am also saddened by this. But it is just the truth.
