Sorry guys, said it a few times, say it again. This engine is being retired. They aren't gonna put it into anything new
Now I agree that the chance of an LS7 z28 is pretty slim, however the LS7 is going to live just as long as the LSA and the LS3. They will all be replaced shortly by the new engines coming out in a few years. So the fact that the LS7 is going by the wayside is not the best arguement

I mean that the LS7 has a confirmed end date. The others do not

I just figured the picture might be interesting to some who hadn't seen it. If everyone's already seen it then sorry for bringing it back up. It's on the left side, kinda hard to see.
There we have our answer! Weight reduction for the Z28 was accomplished in 2005, by using an advanced light weight material known as clay.

a clay car actually weighs more than an essentially hollow steel car, by several tons.

The OP's pics remind me:

I'll have to read up on the thread to see where this has gone in over a year. Because two pictures doesn't impress much.

The only problem with Z28 I still can't wrap my head around is the fact that I'd still have to make excuses as for why (and how) I could have chose one. Plus, unless and until the interior gets sorted, no matter how fast it goes, it's just SO much better from the outside than the inside. Like it or not, Mustang and GT500 are just very nice places to be.

here to stir up trouble? 1st post? I think so. . .

everything you've stated isn't fact it's opinion. and you're very welcome to have it. but first post on a camaro forum you're dissing the camaro. not something you do if you want to make friends.

Let me reply to the opinion...

There is no comparison between the Mustang interior and the Camaro interior. I know after more than 15K in both vehicles. yes I own them both. My wife and kids complain about the Mustang seating and flat butt syndrome. I agree with them.

The new 5.0 performance is stellar. What Ford is getting out of the three arm live axle is amazing. I tip my hat to them for a job well done. That said, the Z28 will raise the bar just as the higher level Mustangs have raised the bar in this segment.

Bashing the Z28 is a waste of time and effort as the car will stand in the marketplace based on merit and not opinion.

Curious if Pedders has any suspension engineering input on the new Z28?

Yes Pete, are you allowed to say if the Z/28 will be Pedders enhanced or at least influenced by your knowledge of the current SS suspension and how to fix some of the problems? Now that Pedders coilovers are part of GMPP, will they become standard on the Z/28? Face it, somebody was bound to ask you these questions.
