In all fairness, there is a great RP UOA in a Ford Mustang:

While I think these oils (RP, Amsoil, RL,) are good oils, I don't think they are superior to other synthetics. I keep seeing consistently great UOA's from what most here would consider "lower quality" synthetics, while these boutique oils are hit or miss, and they don't meet the requirements to keep the warranty intact.

I'll stick with Pennzoil Platinum or Pennzoil Ultra.

After reading those links I noted the conditions for both of the Dodge hemi's were severe. The one guy was operating in zero to sub zero conditions and towing boats 2-3 times a week, and the other guy had piston slap he knew about from modifying his engine I'm guessing? Hard to tell; he didn't give much info.

Neither was willing to automatically attribute their report to it being RP's fault though which indicates to me they knew other factors might be the cause.

I know I've read reports where RP wasn't doing the best with diesels but they require special oils anyways.

Whatever oil people decide to upgrade to, the important thing is to consider upgrading especially if you upgrade the performance of your car.

I'm sticking with RP; my experience and the testimonies of people who's opinion I respect and trust give me confidence I have a good oil that's protecting my car about as good as it can be protected.
