Took mine in yesterday to have the guys do a once over after mine has stuck many times...and for some reason my Competition Mode only works when ever it feels like it! Gave them the low-down on the new part number and the service manager was very cool about it. Said "yep, I had a Gen IV Firebird and that thing had clutch problems on it too" so we will take car of you! So I called them in the afternoon to find out that there computer network was down so they could "research" the issue. However they said they have a repair ticket and they just need to confirm they are ordering the right parts. I do know that it helps to get to know the guys at the dealership. Before I took the car in, the owner pretty much told me it would be resolved without an issue....but they needed to follow the warranty process.

Ok I took my car in today and showed them this print out from the link above, I told them I was haveing the problems and this is suposed to be the fix and this is the part numbers. The service manager said thease are "HIGH PERFOMANCE PARTS" and are not covered, and he will have to have somebody look at the car next tuesday, sounds like there going to look at it and not duplicate the sticking pedal.

This is the list from early in this thread. Did the trick for me.

12571611 Flywheel
11569956 Flywheel Bolts (6 required)
12557583 Pilot Bearing
12561465 Pressure Plate Bolts (6 required)
24255748 Clutch / Pressure Plate Kit

The service dept. has to go through some steps to verify the issue before GM will spend the money. Haven't heard of anyone getting this work done on the first visit without the dealer being able to reproduce the sticking clutch, so don't worry. GM has been good at taking care of this issue as long as you let them follow their own protocol.

Update on my clutch issues....spoke to the dealer yesterday to find out that GM issued a bulletin on June 1st about the clutch issue on the Camaro's stating that in customer should use launch control mode (i.e. comp mode) and let the clutch out quickly to reduce the amount of heat build up in the clutch system....and to not consistently us this mode since excessive heat could cause the clutch to hang! Urgh! So I may end up having to call the GM warranth natzi's to get this worked out! More to come!

well i dropped the camaro off tonite to get the new stuff put on next week. They are even going to go thru the trans to make sure it wasnt damaged. I cant wait to finally have a car that i dont have to be afraid to drive hard in fear that the trans is going to grind or the clutch is going to stick on me again. I'll post after i get it back.

You should break the clutch in for 500 miles of general street driving before you go hammering on it....this allows the clutch to get broken in through normal friction/heat processes... Hope you didn't toast your new clutch!

Talked to my dealer on Friday, new parts are ordered and being shipped on Monday! The warranty department did not stop the order so I will be getting the new stuff too. I didn't have a pen with me since I was out playing on the beach in Florida when they called, but I plan to chat with them tomorrow to see what parts they ordered. Shew!

Verified that they ordered and received PN 24255748 Clutch/Pressure Plate kit. Should have it back today or tomorrow....

Have been scrolling thru and am having difficulty finding V6er's with this problem. This almost looks like a V8 problem. However, I have about 4400 miles on mine and I've done about 5 burnouts in it since i've had it (pretty darn good ones I might add especially for a V6) but it just won't launch hard anymore. I had the clutch bump happen to me once a couple thousand miles ago. Any other V6er's having issues?
