So Much for all the screaming about park normal or you will get keyed it looks like no matter how you park people are going to key your Car.

Sucks that happened, hopefully they can make it like new.

To the OP, I'm in agreement with most. Where I grew up, if you did something dumb and got caught, you faced at least 2 ass whippings. one from the person who caught you and one from your dad.

There used to be some kids running around roping mailboxes from the back of a pick up and snatching them out of the ground.
Most of us thought we knew who was doing it but couldn't catch them.

After losing 2 mailboxes my Uncle Brent sunk a piece of drill pipe 15' deep and concreted it in for his next one.
A few days later there was a broken rope on it and one of the Stouffer boys showed up to school the same day with an "unexplained" broken arm.
Later that night my Uncle went and spoke with their dad, and for the next 2 months the Stouffer boys were walking back and forth to school because the truck got taken away.
They also limped the first few days, probably from the ass kicking they got from their dad.

Guess what? No mailboxes got molested after that.
Unfortunately the problem with todays society is no one has to face consequences for their actions.

IMO vote with your feet. If like CC laws or Castle Doctrine laws move to a state that supports them, there's several including Texas and I imagine more to come, or work hard to have them passed in your state.

However, if you want to live where your only form of self defense is to pick up the phone and call 911 and pray the police can make it? Move to D.C., Chicago or California.

My only question is...

"A person is justified in using deadly force against another to pervent the other who is fleeing after committing burglary, robbery, or theft during the nighttime, from escaping with the property and he reasonable believes that the property cannot be recovered by any other means; or, the use of force other than deadly force to protect or recover the property would expose him or another to a substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury. Why do the scumbags get a pass if they do it in the daytime?

The castle law was one of the things I liked about Texas when I was there. The way the law sees it, if the perp is able to break into your car/home or remove and make off with another piece of your property, he is armed (read:has a tool of some sort,) If he ripped your wheels off or busted into your home through your front door he's obviously physically capable without a potential weapon to do some nasty damage which makes him an all around good target for your firearm instead of trying to wrestle with a potentially deadly person in the dark of night. The kid could be (and in Texas probably is,) armed as well and has no qualms about putting you down if you attempt to move into a personal melee with him. If he didn't want to potentially get killed he probably shouldn't be robbing/vandalizing one of the best armed states in the U.S. I grew up in a kinda ghetto neighborhood in CA and you would hardly ever see crime here because law or not, you get caught in the act of robbing someone they are going to shoot to kill law be damned. Except in CA it's generally said to make sure the crook doesn't leave alive. That way they can't sue you and there is nothing to refute a self defense claim.

I am currently stationed in Tucson and almost got an apartment in southern Tucson. Thank goodness I changed my mind at the last moment. The area just didn't seem very safe and many of the people looked fairly swarthy. Like being back home in SoCal. I decided to head more north West and now live more by the colleges in a secluded apartment complex with mostly older folks and assigned covered parking. If I had to live south of Tucson I would go a little further south to more the outskirts of Tucson. Towards the center ESPECIALLY near D-M is a not so good area. Good luck on your insurance claim. Hopefully the shop can do a good job matching your paint.

I'm right there with ya, I don't have a glock but I do have a model 442 S&W Airweight that would definitly be brought into the equation. Maybe we need to write our florida government and try to convince them we need to follow Texas's example After all, with the crime we're having in Jacksonville a law like that might just make some of the scum think twice.

Another sad story of the lack of respect for other peoples property. Probably a big joke for some person who wishes he had your ride. You will fix it and move on enjoying your car. He will continue to be a loser.

In addition to that, as spoken by one of the greatest comedians of our time, not only do we have the death penalty, we have an express lane, no waiting....

Don't like it, think it's dumb, stay out.... (there are many meanings to this statement...) you can stay out, the hoodlums wanting to do damage to others property, regardless of age can stay out, of our property.... etc... I'll let you fill in the rest.... I'm sure you can come up with some self rightous statements....

No, I've never shot anyone, and hope like crazy I never do... but when I lived way out in the country and was gone every third night, my wife then kept a pistol in her nightstand.... One night while I was at home I heard something going on outside my house... car drove up our road, no other houses anywhere near us, stopped, people got out, I could hear them walking up the road to our house, so I fired a round into the dirt out front and they hauled butt.... No problems ever again... Turns out it was some local highschool trash looking to steal tools from my truck... They talked about it in school the next day, and my oldest son made sure with threats of a severe ass-whipping if they ever came near the area again...That got around, no one ever messed around there again....
