Arrow 1998 Chevrolet Camaro Z28

My friend has a 1998 Chevrolet Camaro Z28.His car is in bone
stock condition right now.He is thinking about doing some mods
but, doesn't know where to start. He really likes drag racing and
may run his car at the track. What would be the best mods to do?
What are good bang for the buck bolt on's to do? What camshaft
do you prefer?

What kinda milage is on it. First it would be best to make sure, engine, trans, clutch(if manual) are all in good working order. Worse thing to do is up date it with mods that they can't handle because of age or milage. With almost 250,000 miles and 12yrs for driving, I would want to go thru mine real good before putting it on the track.
But as far as a daily driver, I'll driver her anywhere .

Air in, air out.

Lid, catback, tune (Especially on '98 cars) LTs, if it's an Auto, Stall converter, good clutch if M6, sticky tires, and that should be enough to nuke a stock 7.5" rear. I could type 3 pages here, but that will get him into the game with most every other bolt on LS1 in the natural world.

Haha, TA you amuse me, lol.
Personally, after doing everything TA just said, I'd start beefin up the rear, and then move on to suspension.

In addition to this, I'd say throw on an LS6 intake manifold. They are higher flowing than your bud's LS1 intake and can be had for cheap since they came stock on all 2000-2002 LS1 Fbodies.

My friends car has 90K miles on the clock.
He is doing all his general maintenance oil change, spark plugs, etc.
Is the LS6 intake manifold a direct swap on his 98?
What camshaft do you guys recommend doing?
What rear is a good replacement for the 7.5" rear end?
Thanks guys.

The LS6 manifold is a direct swap, although it will require the corresponding coolant crossover lines. M6 or A4? Not only will that help suggest a cam(and preferably heads at the same time, as they're going to be off for the cam swap anyway) but will also give some insight to how long the stock rear will live, and whether he needs to budget for a 12 bolt/S60/9" Rear, or can get away with beefing the 7.5.
