Should I get a manual or automatic tranny?

I am turning 17 and I am getting a camaro. If I get a v6, then i will get an auto. But if i somehow get a v8, which i really doubt cause its 400+ horsepower, should i get automatic or manual? Since i will be 17, and will have to keep the car for about 10 years, what are the advantages/disadvantages at my age for either or?

The obvious consensus is going to be manual, without a doubt. I'm still on the fence myself, let us know what you end up with

From all yall that say get manual, is it still possible to "multitask" while driving stick? Like i dont talk/text all the time i drive, but you know when you have those emergency situations where you gotta make a call right quick
