Brian,
I hope one persons actions will not ruin it for the rest of us. Kelly and I had a great time at the show. You and Larry are very nice people to bad someone has to disrespect you minutes after you clearly said no burn outs. He should have to face the little girl and her mom he scared to death by his actions. She would hide behind her mom everytime she heard a car start up that was loud. A sad uncalled for end to a great show. |

Hey this goes out to every one that was at the show, I truly want to express my appoligy for the burn out, as my gf tells me mifbody had stated they didn't want people doing burn outs at the show. I don't remember him doing the announcement after the award ceremony. highbeam and another lady was taking photos ofme leaving the parking lot and sense I had not heard the announcement and saw others doing small burn outs as they left, I decided to hit the gas just a little. But not hearing the announcement or reading it on there web site DOESN'T excuse it. anyone that knows me, knows I follow all those kinda rules...again I
truly sorry

I ran up from Toledo, but could only stay for an hour or so. I enjoyed what little I saw of the meet.
Great job! Here is a link to some pictures I took (mostly of the 5th Gens there in the morning) http://www.flickr.com/photos/3778717...7624091704839/

Had a great time @ the show, too bad I had to bail @ 12:00. I would have loved to stay and see all the winners!! Thanks to everyone who put their hard work into putting this show together. And a pleasure to meet Lynn and Kelly w/ the white Camaro from Midland.

Hey Rod, Thanks for posting - I do appreciate it. We really post on MiFbody about no burnouts and I can understand that participants from other sites might not know how heavily we depend on no burnouts at the show. I had a feeling you might not have realized our rule because you seemed like a pretty straight guy when we talked so hopefully that won't stop you from coming out to Woodward or other events. Next year, though, we will have a check-off that says "I will not do burnouts at the event" for all the people who register Thanks again for posting your apology, I do appreciate you stepping up and posting a response. ![]() To everyone - this is NOT meant to be a recruitment for new members, but for those of you on Camaro5.com in the MI area that are looking for somewhere to hang out, the host website for the Meet & Greet, MiFbody.com, usually hangs out on Woodward on Friday nights at the Automotive Europe parking lot where Adams merges into Woodward just north of 14 Mile rd. Anyone is welcome to come and hang out with us - we don't care if you're a "registered member" on MiFbody or not - it's just about enjoying everyone's company and hanging out on Woodward with all the heritage. If anyone does come out, bring a few folding chairs. Like I said - not meant as a recruitment - just want everyone to be able to enjoy the company of fellow FBody enthusiasts all season long.

This goes to to 4SD FED. I do thank you for saying your sorry for the burn out and that would have been me taking your shot as I am a professional Photographer. However what you did not see was my 5yr old daughter standing just a little off to my right side and if Highbeam had not grabbed her during your burn out you would have hit her full force possibly killing her with your car because in all respects her size and how little she is you would not have had time to stop!!!!! She is 5yrs old and very small and was already out of the way to begin with so not in the middle of the driveway but you where out of control. I've been holding my tongue for the last 24hrs here specially when I found out you where a Camaro5 form member because yes there is no burn outs ever in top parking lot and signs posted up there and down on the drive out. I get the burn outs coming out of Bakers believe me down on the main street as people are leaving its almost to be expected but when my little girl is involved and someone is that reckless that they could have hit her it does not set well with me. She was terrified after that beyond belief not to mention the amount of people that surrounded Highbeam and my little girl right after that because she dropped to the floor crying. Now every time a car starts up she has a death grip on myself or highbeam. I spent a lot of time dude taking shots of your car yesterday morning and beyond belief I was by far happy with that. I take it personal when someone comes at my little girl so I hope you can understand how anger I am right now and how much work I have ahead of me with her. I now have to try to get her back around a car here because I normally do not take her with me to photo shoots but from time to time she does go with me. I took her yesterday because she wanted to see a friend of ours who was bringing in a special car called Firebreather since they are leaving to go on tour to promote their movie. I never dreamed that by the end of the day my child would be put in danger by someone's actions with their car not to mention the people that where up there, their kids, pets or their cars. So understand how upset I am and I hope a lesson is learned. Luck that no one or anything got hurt from this. I am not trying to trash mouth here before anyone jumps on that wagon but I am anger beyond believe that my daughter is terrified now. I will & do thank white 2S/RS & your wife for trying to help with my little girl after that was over with. One other thing this was my first F-Body show and I was already in a mood to begin it only takes a couple of people to ruin a day for everyone. On another note people when kids are around watch your mouth and you language. I had some that where swearing and calling names yesterday and here is my little girl. What you do at home is your own business but leave the dirty mouths at home. If I am working and taking photo's of your car wither I post them on my own personal sight or admit them to Motor Trend I really do not want to hear all that and people who are sitting there calling each other names. I don't want my little one around it either. Really all in all this show did not set well with me and I do a lot of photo shoots at a lot of shows. I've never heard the kind of language at a car show like I did yesterday. I've been to Pinks All Out and not heard all that. I was disappointed by that. Like I said not everyone a lot of good people there to k but I walked away yesterday saying to myself I will never go to another F-Body show again. My first one ever and after all that yesterday it really upset me. Disappointed really.

I have also been waiting to make my comments about the show for similar reasons. Now I have been attending car shows from small 30 and under shows to huge 1000+ shows and haven't had problems beyond the occassional man who creeps me out. This was the first large event where I had a very mixed reaction. I met a good number of friendly car owners and spectators throughout the day including one lady named Jill who told me something silly that made my day. However, there were some things to note that I have not experienced at any other car show before.
Language. First time I've heard that much profanity and bad-mouthing (some of it directed at my friend Panther26 who had brought her little girl along). If someone has something bad to say, either tone it down, save it for later, or shut it. Don't go making rude and uncalled for comments about someone you've never met so loud that anyone nearby can hear it. Don't drop f-bombs left and right around young children. It's rude, it's immature, and if you really have to say it, wait until the kid(s) are out of range, ok? Rule #1 which I would hope everyone would know about performing a burnout: wait until your path is clear, void of any potential human or vehicle targets before you hit the gas. Thank you Mifbody and white 2SS/RS for bringing that one up. No one should ever perform a burnout in a packed parking lot that close to other parked cars and wandering people, children, and pets. It's just too dangerous. Wait for the open road if you absolutely must do a burnout... ![]() There is one man in particular whom I will not point out, but he should know exactly who he is, who royally freaked me out. This doesn't happen very often, but the owner of a particular silver Trans Am really scared me because he ended up coming across as a stalker... Give me my space, please. Just because I'm dressed up like I'm going to a car race doesn't mean I'm a cheap floozy for you to try and take home, ok? ![]() But the show in general was great. Lots of awesome cars, great photo ops, met some more Camaro5 people and made some new friends but I am really debating whether or not to return to the show next year. I did post a handful of images as a preview album for now: http://rides.webshots.com/album/577883685vchmci

Pather26; I hope you know that if at anytime I would have seen your daughter or any other child any where close to the car, I wouldn't of done it. There is no way to to tell who is between the cars, and that have tought me a big lesson.... If there is a next time I do a burn out I will make sure it's in a save closed enviroment. I want to express my sinseriest apology.

Yikes - sorry to hear about the foul language being used. Please let us know at the Check-in tent if you do attend in the future - I would've handled it.

Wow I guess I missed something...it was like I was at a different show hearing some of these stories. My wife and 2 kids (5,2) were there in the afternoon and had a wonderful time. I never once worried about them or the language, cause I just didn't hear it but maybe it was a good thing they left early afternoon.
Highbeam, Hopefully I wasn't one of the ones that came off "creepy" and freaked you out. I introduced myself as a admirer of your photos, and If I knew that was Panther with you I would have shook her hand as well. I hope it wasn't all bad. |

Highbeam suggested that I finish off my "cliffjumper" car by putting the transformers emblems on my car. I'm also thinking for the next one I should put a sign with the mods that I did to the car, as I had a few that wanted to hear the v6 Corsa catback. |
