That's true and you made a good choice for your needs and wants.
If they keep up the way they are going the Challenger will overprice itself right out of the market.
It's not like we (challengers) have the name recognition and long history that Camaro and Mustangs enjoy

Lots of things mentioned that make it a bit more pricey but I'll also add simple things too...like lighted vanity mirrors, side mirrors that retract, better materials used on the interior (like a nice, soft, perfect dash!), suede interior inserts, more room inside and in the trunk, etc....also you get the SRT experience with your purchase.

Lighter wheels, NAV, hardrive, suspension, better seats, etc, etc and what I mentioned means a higher price.

The MSRP is high but we just bought one and I didn't pay anything near MSRP on it! Well below MSRP and about the same as MSRP on a 2SS/RS loaded!

It's a wonderful car...really it is and I'm not hear to talk down on the Camaro as I own one and love it...but the SRT8s are very, very nice! Slower mind you...but nice! LOL!

The R/Ts...priced it out and once we got what we wanted...the SRT was only a few thousand more...so we got the SRT8!

More bang for the buck = 2010 Camaro SS definitely. Hemi Orange Challenger SRT8 looks awesome though.

Agreed but there is also body, interior, electrical, lighting as well.
I'm not saying parts will be non-existent, just harder, i.e. more expensive to come by.
The 3.5L will eventually (next year or two) go the way of the dodo replaced by the pentastar

I test drove the R/T and actually liked it, to me it felt more old school muscle schoolish and that is why I would want one. I really liked the interior of the Challey and I especially liked the trunk and rear seat size. The car felt good on the road and I was impressed, if somebody got a challey instead of a Camaro my hat is off to them, but........to me nothing beats the looks of the Camaro hands down, this style will be one that will be classic one day just like their first gens. The feel and drive of the Camaro (I test drove both the Camaro and the Challey in the same day) is awesome, I barely got it out of the driveway of the dealership and was hooked and had a hard time remembering the Challey. I DID notice the prices of the R/T and the 1SS and actually here in Athens GA the 1SS was $500 cheaper than the Dodge and this car will blow that R/T off the road. Folks The Challenger is a really nice car in its own niche or nostalgia per say, it has 60s looks and that old muscle car feel with many modern advancemants but that is where it ends. What Chevy did with the modern Camaro should earn them many awards and they actually did earn the most prestigious award there is....and that is SALES!!!! becasue as we all know......what are they in it for?.......ya thats right......$$$$$$$$$$
and Chevey is sitting on a big pile of cash just with this model alone........ahhhhhh ...........it's good to be KING once again
remember this folks, as a Chevy Camaro nut that is looking forward to his first purchase of a Camaro, my hat is off to whoever buys a Challenger they are OK in my book and besides they are a whole lot sweeter looking than one of those Ford Mustakes(just threw up in my mouth with the image of a Mustake)
With that said I have to announce that my sister just pronounced herself legally insane by buying herself a Mustake herself thinking of changing my name now.
well that is my two cents.

The challenger is a beautiful car

If I could afford it, I may have had a very difficult decision on my hands. Although as obsessed with my Camaro as I am now .... I have a hard time imagining buying something else haha.

Car guys are car guys and it's cool we all like what we like.
The Camaro was not for me. The styling is very slick and aggressive if not retro...imo.
Ford clearly has hit two home runs with their new V6 and 5.0 mustangs so props to them. If the rear end of the mustang looked a bit better that ball would be landing on the moon.
I'm no MOPAR fanboy but it's sad for me to say that Dodge is lagging behind.
New camaro owners get a thumbs up from me when I see em.
I can't do mustangs though, my thumb would be permanently up since there are so many of them on the road

I test drove the challenger...SRT8. it was fast but I felt like the car was huge and heavy. It was fully loaded and had a cool screen for the radio and gps...our camaros are lacking in that department! But, Dodge overprices their cars then they fall apart promptly after leaving the dealership! While my Charger was in the shop for a month and a half getting a new engine there were two brand new challengers in the shop. One was getting all new wiring and the other was broke down for whatever reason. I'll never buy a Chrysler product again and strongly suggest that to all my friends!

I swore off dodge in 1990 but the challenger brought me back...ONLY the challenger. If not for that I might actually be driving a Camaro.

Unfortunately to me the new Challenger looks TOO MUCH like the old one... If i was going to spend 40 to 50K on a Challenger it would be for a OLD one, one that will keep increasing in value... Sorry but i think they screwed up by making it look too much like the origional...

The SRT Challenger is the only Dodge I have ever owned, It's OK, I am waiting for the Z28, along with my Corvette that will complete the stable.
