Oh yeah, I am in line to have my brake calipers powder coated. The question is, do I got with gloss black, candy apple red, or "jetstream blue"? I'm leaning toward the blue.

Here is a pic of the blue:

I will have just the "Brembo" stencil on mine like this one:

On CGM.... JSB for sure... there is so much blue metal flake in CGM that it will make it pop! Get the blue for sure! NOT the red... it will not look too good. Looks great on 1 RD JEWLs car, not so much on CGM.

DE... upgrade your pads and brake lines to stainless lines while you are at it. little cost... great gains! I am doing mine over the winter but I am going to paint them myself... Red... like all my BMR stuff and red stainless braided lines from MTI.

OH and have them do it right. In both pictures, whomever coated them left the brake line on that carries fluid to the front of the caliper. It would look better if that stayed as it was from the factory. I think 1 RD JEWL's were removed... I have to look. It will just look more professional, like they took their time. If you dont have them remove it it looks kind of like taking you car in to have painted and they paint over all the trim.

RS_Man is ticked - he wants to inherit Merlin in pristine condition!

Yes, Fen. Merlin has suffered yet another consequence of actually BEING DRIVEN! I wasn't anywhere near anyone but life happens and I can't put the clear bra film on the windshield :-) It's a bummer, but he's got his appointment at 11 am today to be patched up.

On the other hand, he's settling in nicely with his new suspension and intake. I didn't buy him to be a show car so a few road warrior battle scars are just fine.

If he was just for show you wouldn't get to drive him and what fun would that be?!

I think I'm going to go with the blue.

I'll ask IPS if they can put stainless steel brake lines on when they install the calipers. What kind of pads should I ask for? I know I should go ceramic, but do your recommend a particular brand?
A core charge is the way to go, then you aren't down long. As for pads, I will let JEWL and Heinz chime in there, they have aftermarket pads.

I have Stainless steel braided lines instock So we can certainly help with that.

Brake pad branding, is very political, but I am personally preferential to Stoptechs new pads, Hawk, and Carbotechs, each offer unique compounds for specific purposes. I can go over this with you at the shop, or if any one else would like I can post the information. Luckily I have plenty of racing experience with many of these pads, and have a many new camaro clients that are already out putting them to the test as well.

OH go with blue, it would look EXCELLENT with the cyber gray.

Turbo over supercharger any day. Superchargers are less efficient, and they'll rob your engine of HP and waste fuel.

pros and cons...

I'd go super before turbo but thats me. Both have ad/disadvantages. Turbos can generally produce more power but run hotter. There is also lag associated with turbos as you have to get the exhaust moving to spin the impeller. Since a supercharger is belt driven, its ready when you are. Which can also be a disadvantage when it comes to traction. You will NOT be able to jump on a maggie off the line and expect to move. The turbo car will take a few seconds to kick in and you'd better be ready when it does!

Then you can have the best of both words... a procharger. It is basically a belt driven turbo. Looks like a turbo, sounds like a turbo, acts like a turbo but does not run off the exhaust thus less heat... equal power. I have personally seen procharged cars putting well over 600hp to the tires. Maggies will get you in the 520 range with the L99. Power with either all depends on boost pressure and how long you want your stock short block to last... remember you have to pay to play...

Like I said... pros and cons and everyone will have their own favorite.
