Catback Exhaust Questions

I know exhaust sounds are a personal thing. I have listened to countless clips of different exhaust systems on the web, I think most of them sound superior to the stock system. I've driven a LS3 with a Borla S-type, and it was a little too loud for me. I purchased a "used" Solo Mach X for my LS3 hoping it would be the perfect system. Sadly, it is not perfect for me. It sounds great around town and during "spirited" driving, however, on the highway, windows up, it's just too loud inside the car, around 2k RPM. I've contacted Solo and they had some suggestions. It's not leaking, clamps are all tight, and there's good clearance between the muffler/xpipe and heatshield.
All that being said, does anyone have any personal experiences comparing the Solo Mach X with the Magnaflow "Street" system, or the Flowmaster American Thunder system? Specifically the cabin sound at 2k RPM? I know Corsa's system is probably the way to go, but if I can avoid spending an extra $500 or $600, that would make me (and my wife!) happy!
Does anyone in the Atlanta area with either the Magnaflow Street or Flowmaster American Thunder that I could hear in person?
My apologies for such a long post, and thanks for any information.

I would consider magnaflow. Nice and tame during normal driving but sounds good, and awesome at wot

The magnaflow street series would be my recommendation

I have Magnaflows... but I will be switching to something louder. It seems quieter than the stock exhaust with headers.

I hate when a 4.6 L mustang drives up and sounds meaner than my 6.2 L beast.

FlowMaster's American Thunder mufflers are going to be WWWAAAAAAYYYYYYY too loud if the Solo's are too loud for you.

Your post indicates you are pretty well informed and have even tried some out... also sounds like drone at 2K RPM is your main issue..

I would suggest Corsa, but you have ruled that out so Magnaflow would be your next best bet...

I went with Magnaflow axle backs, not much louder than stock cruising around, but sounds good when you step on.

Thanks for the feedback. I figured a Corsa would solve my problem. I was just hoping there would be a less expensive alternative to the Corsa. If I consider the Corsa, then I have to consider a Borla Touring (same ballpark pricewise). I haven't given up on a Magnaflow Street yet, hopefully I'll get to hear one in person soon.

Thanks, but that's what I have now, so I'm looking for something with less 2k "drone".

I was where you are now. It looks like you know that the corsa will give you what you want but you would also like to save some money. I was in the same boat but then I figured it was not worth it and both the corsa. I am so happy I did. The corsa is quiet it's even quieter than stock when cruising but when you get on it it's beautiful. No drone what so ever and I love that popping sound when I let off the gas. I say bite the bullet and just go for it. Save a few bucks and install it yourself.
