No, you don't have to remove the bumper. I took mine off after seeing this post. Two plastic buttons hold it in place. First button was easy to remove. It's head is visable facing forward just above the SS emblem in the grill. I pushed its center keeper out on its backside from the engine compartment, right behind the LH headlight. The second button is a PITA to remove but I got it out by removing the hood latch from the cowl support (2 13mm bolts) and then reaching in thru the grill and prying the keeper out of the center of the button. I then lifted the piece out where the hood latch was. Now I can see the blue paint on the radiator cowl support thru the grill. I'm going to put it back on to cover this up. Just curious after seeing OPs pic and had to go in for a closer look.

Sorry just had to comment on that. Yes plastic isnt that heavy and there for removing such a small piece would not increase horsepower due to weight, but increasing air flow into the intake for better velocity and air volume might in fact increase horsepower numbers. If not than there is no need to change from a light weight(plastic) intake tube to an aluminum tube for a cold air intake right? But hold on a second it does help hp by switching to a cold air intake because of air flow not weight!!

You are correct. This does have to come out to access "the piece" A.K.A. LH Baffle.

The problem is, it won't show enough difference to make up for the variances from one dyno pull to the next. Jannetty's CAI test showed that most of the better CAI's keep the IAT's within a few degrees of ambient. How much of a IAT drop will it take to make a noticeable difference? Instead of a dyno comparison, I think a driving IAT difference would be a better test.
