It's under Capacities and Specifications in the Technical Data section of your manual. It takes 8 Quarts.

Question OIL FILTERS

While we're here, how about talking about which OIL FILTER is the best oil filter. That may get more positive responses on this subject. K&N? Fram? Others? Is the most expensive the best or how do you rate them?

Not sure where you got this info??
I've changed my oil 3-4 times on my 2LT. With filter, at 6 qts the oil pan is full....the dipstick shows full. Anyone who puts 7.6 qts. in the V6 is overfilling and asking for problems...........The manual shows 6 qts. for the V6, 8qts. for the V8.

This is wrong. The V6 does NOT take 7.6 Quarts, and the V8 does NOT take 8.9 Quarts. If that is what you have been putting in, then you are overfilling your engine.

Depends really. Fram sucks (except for their Extended Guard), AC Delco is great for 3 to 5,000 mile OCI's, K&N doesn't filter well (but flows great), Wix and Puraloators are great for 7,500 mile OCI's, and Mobil 1, Amsoil, and Royal Purple filters are excellent for 10,000 or longer OCI's.

You mean that is the OCI you prefer to do, right? When my LS3 OLM% gets to 5%, and I change the oil, she has roughly 10,000 miles... sometimes 12,000.

Our V6 is always at 10,000.

yeah alot of people ARE confused as there were pre - released capacities of 7.6 quarts for the V6 and 8.9 for the V8

Its 6 and 8 ,how appropiate! your v6 takes 6 and your v8 well take s 8. Quarts!!

In contrast the 6.2 liter LSA takes 6 quarts as per manual and personal experience.

This is why I'm using Purolator filters, The 7500 interval falls into my range for a Mobil 1 oil change.
