That's still going to be more than half full of 87 when you get to the track, and no better than half and half on the dyno.

Go get an Oklahoma Credit Card and make good use of it before you leave tonite...

How do these people make a living selling cars?

Wow completely clueless.. Or trying to lie to you to trick you into the 2010

LOL Well since you asked, I'll continue that story. At first I thought so too. I mean, he can't exactly play up the 2011s when he's trying to close a deal on a 2010, so I pressed the issue. I said "No, it's not a chip. It's an entirely new engine that ford has been working on for a while. In fact, it's the return of the 5.0 after all these years! I'd think that should be big news to Ford!" He basically said he hadn't heard of that, only that they would be getting a HP bump in the next model year and assumed they would "chip it". Even that made me chuckle, because they haven't had to solder a new ECU chip into a car in quite a while either. So then he said "Well if you buy this 2010 today and it's still under warranty, come back when the new ones are out and we'll swap out that engine for you!" LOL I should have got that in writing from him!

This was a young guy, I'm guessing 21 or 22. He was NOT well versed on cars. I won't even go into all the things he claimed about the Camaro because it's so laughable that some people would think I'm making it up

The Camaro had 280 miles on it from our dyno mileage input, so it had a little more time.

thats what i was thinking, he should go through at least 1 1/2 tanks of higher octane before dynoing.

They should be able to disconnect the battery after running some 93 and it should relearn, or at least chevy's do.

That's not really the point - you have to get at least most of the 87 out of the tank or the ECU will still pull timing and the car will still be down on power.

I know but once you run it down to say 1/8th tank and throw in the 93 and run it around the block come back and disconnect the battery it should be good. Instead of running through a couple tanks.

to make sure it's 93 octane, he would need to add an 1/8th tank of 100 octane to compensate for the 87 if he leaves an 1/8th tank of 87. nobody is even sure if disconnecting the battery and running it around the block would be enough for it to adapt to the 93.

there's no rush, just do it right. otherwise this cloud would just sit about the corners that were cut during the comparison.

in the end, it's your car. do as you please.
