I'm guessing it may have to do with the method used. Not necessarily the After market ones. The two guys who bought my stock sets of wheels WITH sensors both have posted in this thread, having the same issue.
STOCK sensors. Only common here is the deflation method so far. |

Is there a way to keep the light from coming on at the dash?
Fuse pull or LED removal etc.? |

Grrrrrrrrr. My stock sensors worked fine.
I will be stopping at the dealer where I bought the car next week and I'll talk to them about it. Why don't the guys selling this stuff mention these things BEFORE we buy the wheels? (that was a rhetorical question, btw...) |

Exactly. I bought my wheels from a vendor here on Camaro5. They seemed to know all about the brake line rub issue AFTER I bought the wheels and asked them about it.

I have no problems at all with the brake lines (and my car is lowered), but the tpms seem to be a mystery.

I'm sure glad I found this thread. I did the air out of tires method and I got all 4 sensors to work (something the dealership couldn't do).
So for now everything is working. We'll see how long it last. |

Alright folks, stopped by the dealer, explained my issue, unfortunately all techs were tied up, I was told to come back Monday and they would use the tool to reprogram, nomore than 5 min I was told, and Im assuming NO CHARGE
EDIT: Just went out and tried one last time, I was able to get all 4 to pair, I used a screw driver this time to push in the valve so the PSI dropped FAST and they all honked within 10 sec... we will see if they stick

Jeanius, that's cool. I'm going to try taking mine to the place where I bought it and see if they'll do that for me.

I got a response from Nine Ball about the TPMS. He says the problem is pervasive with the Camaros and that these are the only vehicles he's ever seen with these issues with the TPMS system. He also said that the air does not need to be let out of the wheels through the sensors and that the relearn should work with the sensors inside the wheels (i.e., my car's TPMS system should relearn by letting air out of each wheel in sequence even with the sensors inside the wheels).
So, my next step is to go to the dealer to see if they can use their magic TPMS device. Last edited by Darth_Emma; 06-17-2010 at 10:06 AM. |

Out of curiosity, how many of you have the stock wheels/sensors stored nearby in your garage? TPMS systems monitor the sensors constantly, sending out signals to the sensors to report back their pressures. Even when the car is parked, these sensors monitor every few hours. I'm wondering if the Camaro stores the old sensors, and gets confused if the originals are stored nearby.
My own Camaro has not had this issue. It is an early build, and my stock wheels are stored over 100 ft away in the shop. This might not be the solution, but I'm curious about if there are any similarities here.
