put a sheet of plywood down so you're not directly on the gravel. You can then put a ladder, stepstool, or whatever on it to climb on.

Agreed with Darth Martel, run over to your local Home Depot or Lowes, pick up what I believe they call handy panels which are 1/2 and 1/4 sheets of plywoork or hardwood. Then get a adjustable work platform. All could be had for under $50 not only will this add a extra foot ro foot and a half but will be safer than a step stool and save you time from getting up and down off the step stool.

Since you have a white car a boars hair brush with handle would work or a chenille brush would work as well. THey can be bought at either properautocar.com or autogeek.net.

I'm 5'2" and have a gravel drive. I went to the farm store and bought 2 rubber stall pads, 4 x 6 and that's where I park or wash/wax my Camaro. $30 each, so my step stool won't be unstable when I wash the roof or hood. Plus don't have to worry as much about my microfiber touching the ground and picking up gravel..

Dynamite comes in small packages but it's nothing compared to a high explosive rocket of a A-10 fighter jet. Just like tall people, they're tall and there's more of us.

Curious when did the A-10 become a fighter jet?
I kid I kid.

Great thread! I'm 5'2" and haven't dared to wash my car myself yet. Not because I can't but because of all the teasing that I'll get. >.> The idea of actually pulling a step stool out to my car makes me shudder, lol. I had an '89 2 door Caprice about a decade ago and I would just climb onto it to reach what I wanted; that aint gonna happen with this car though haha. Definitely have to get those handy tools with extension poles.

I found a microfiber washer with a telescopic handle @ Walmart. I haven't used it yet, but it should be sufficient.

I have one of those by Meguiar's that I used to wash my father's Navigator. I hated standing on the door sills of the truck in order to get at the roof and I am 6' 3.5".

When I get the rest of my detailing stuff down here from Chicago, wifey will inherit it to help wash the Edge.

Great thread! I'm 4'11. Though I currently have an SUV, and usually would stand on the door rails to try to get some parts of the roof clean. Removing snow was the real kicker!
