Exclamation Need Help! Brand New Camaro is Falling apart!

I bought a 2010 Yellow LS Camaro with black racing stripes the end of April. About a month into owning it I noticed on the back drivers side fender a perfect circle that was white. It wasn't a chip.

Then I noticed two more larger ones on the roof. I asked a few mechanics I know and they told me the paint was coming off and to take it back to the dealer asap. So when I spoke to the head of the service center he immediately said they needed to repaint my ENTIRE car. Take off the vinyls, strip in down and repaint it. He told me the chips were just from rocks that kicked up while driving, he could touch it up with a brush but would prefer that the entire car was repainted. For free.

Tonight about an hour ago I was driving from work to my friends apartment. He was driving behind me and gave me a quick call because a bracket from under my car came flying out from under it and almost hit his car.

I don't know what I should do about this. I feel like if I go to the dealer they'll just say it's not from my car, just like the paint coming off is due to stones even though I've got chips on the lower half of my bumper and they don't look anything like the three white spots I have(they have depth and don't wash off in case you're thinking it's just dirty).

If anybody has suggestions I'd love to hear them. This is my first car that I have bought with my own money and am trying my best to take car of it and make it last.

Okay... first off, your car seems like it's in terrible condition. And as your first car, I totally get how you are feeling right now. The paint thing is good news... that they would repaint it for free. However, the bracket from under the car is kinda worrying me... Did you at least get out of the car and take the bracket home? If you did, keep it and show it to the dealer. They should be able to tell if it's from your car or not.

Other than that... I really don't know what else I would be doing. If I were in your shoes... i'd do what you are doing right now. You are lucky your dealership takes care of you. Mine ignores me now... which pisses me off.

Gonna need some pics of the paint 'spots'.

And the bracket, or whatever it was, my not have come from YOUR car. Could have kicked up something in the road.

Have your dealer look at the car. See if there is something missing. You should do the same.

I looked under when I got to my friends apartment and there's an identical bracket that's bolted to the frame. I'm pretty sure it's from my car 'cause i found four bolts with nothing attached and no nuts on said bolts coming from the frame and the bracket lines up with them. Also the bracket has the same shitty welding as the exhaust at the back of my car(not happy that the pipes were welded to those hooks).

I'll certainly take pictures of the marks on my roof and back panel tomorrow when the suns out. The one on the panel is O that big and is rounded inwards and is white, not black like my bumper, and it's not jagged like my bumper chips.

I had a paint problem with another vehicle that I own and the dealer said that it must have been caused by stone chipping. I informed the dealer that I was not a 16 year old kid with thier first car, then contacted GM. My truck was repainted with in that week. Just don't back down to them.

Sure sounds like the tunnel brace.....That would be very odd..about half way down the car....??

That's what I was thinking too.

Did you put an aftermarket exhaust on the car?

Sorry to hear about your recent issues, but just as an FYI...those hooks are needed to hold the exhaust system in place.

Yeah, it's almost directly under the center console.
