Good question..........but I am also worried if the rest of the transmission can handle a rear gear upgrade? Wouldn't this put the drive shaft at risk?

I personally think the 3.73's should have been stock. Give us the gearing to take the 2011 stang

A lot of people actually report a 1 or 2 mpg improvement because the car gets up to speed easier. If you run the interstate regularly you may lose 1 or 2 mpg. At 70-75 mph you will be running just a tick under 2000 rpm in a M6.

The transmission and drive shaft are not affected by the gears. Your axles would be placed under some additional stress but its not significant.

I would like to see some1/4 times with both 4.10 and 3.73 gears to see how much the car picked up over the stock . I think GM put the 3.45's in for fuel mileage

i'm sort of a noob here but 4.10 means the engine turns 4.1 times for every 1 revolution of the wheel? and which gear does that apply to??

no wait that doesn't work out does it lol, ok I don't know what does it means, can you explain?

I've got a headers/tune fund going and was hoping to do that at the end of the year.

So....would you spend the money on headers/tune or do the gears?

I know that years ago when I went from 3.08 gears to 4.10 gears in my '69 it was a complete day and night difference. Eventually I ended up going to 3.73 with a 5-speed because 4.10 with a muncie 4-speed basically kept you from getting on the highway.

I think this looks like a promising upgrade, even with few other mods; but why would noise be considered an issue? And would this work as well with an A6?

I want 3.73 gears how much did yours cost and where did you have them done in Dallas Camaro 21. I am thinking that 4.10 are going to limit your hwy. miles.
