That car also had 24" wheels, ground effects, and is a test mule. There are bound to be some problems.

I got an idea. What about we give them some time? You know, back off a little, and see what happens. There is such as thing as too aggressive, being the first to market might not always be the best thing. Let's not rush things here, and let them develop products that aren't going to create issues, but rather provide the performance we all crave!

The car has barely been out a year, let's have a little patience and maybe we'll see more stuff done.

The manual V8 is easy to tune. But remember that version of the LS3 has been out for over 6 years. we didn't have to wait but a few weeks before we could buy stuff for the LS3...

Now, the L99 is still a big problem for aftermarket companies. especially the TCM.... there are a lot of tuners that won't touch it... it's by no means easy to tune. So even on the V8 side the auto is a problem.

I will say, that calling out tuners that have a healthy business dedicated to the V8 crowd, who is much easier to work with.... Makes it difficult to justify the time and effort when all you get is grief for not doing it soon enough/good enough....

These guys are doing all they can to keep up with V8 demand... why would they jump into a market that is significantly smaller and far less tolerant?

Just something to think about.....

But like I said in another thread.... I would love for someone to figure out how to crack the code on the v6...

I do believe you will see FI (probably turbo) with a tune on the manual V6 long before the auto....

when we are talking about cracking the ecu, we are saing that chevy has firewalled access to controls of the ecu and if on cracks it then they have complete control over vehicle performance? and if that is the case, is their a reason to do so for protecting copywrites...or are they just a holes for doing it.

If that's what you're going to post in the V6 section, please keep yourself in the V8 section of the site.

Hmmmmm..

Well I think a couple things are at play here. I have NO idea why GM is keeping the Tune on the V6 so protected.... I mean this engine has been around for a while in the CTS so You'd think they could let the cat out of the bag.....

I'm not sure I'd call them.... 'holes' But releasing the ECM data is in some form an "Intelectual Property" concern.... Maybe there is something in that tune that they don't want the competition to see....

where as the LS3 is a known quatity.... Not sure...

but the way it stands now is the tuners are limited to trial and error and with out a lot of real world testing that is proving to be risky.... Ask Lingenfelter.....

I just don't think it's very cool to call out a shop that owes nothing to anyone in this sort of fashion. As a matter of fact the V6 Lingenfelter thread was not even created by them and may have even been published a little prematurely. At any rate I mean no harm and am not trying to insult anyone here.

Yes, of course...

I was actually in attendance when it was revealed @ SEMA and, in an interview, Jay exclaimed how he couldn't WAIT to drive it!!

Been to "Leno's Garage"? All manner of "road tests", right? But NO TT Camaro...not even yet...7-and-a-half months later...

As to those who say they have a "tune", or have dyno sheets...where's the PUBLIC PROOF?

I have a connection with one of the "skunkworks" contractors, known to have done specific work for the Camaro Brand Team as well as GM's other Divisions, who are STILL waiting for a "promised tune"...from over a YEAR ago...still no tune...and these folks ARE "connected"...

I'm just sayin'...where's the "public proof"?

Everything else is simply "marketing"...

How about we Give LPE some credit for even trying.... They can only do so much if they don't have the resources...

if you can't tune the ECM you can't run boost.

And why waste time figuring out something as risky as FI on an engine that you can't tune, when you have customers lined up outside your door?

Give it some time and go easy on the guys trying to make it work... They are working uphill on this...

Hey all I'm saying is dont post an unfinished product on your web site and have it say "Fall 2009" when its Summer 2010 now and they are still at the same stage. It was annoying calling them and constantly hear the same thing. To me it seemed like they gave up, they wouldn't even go into details about what exactly they were stuck on. If your interested in this post give them a call and ask them yourself. You will get the same kind of answer.

Last time I'm gonna say. it.

Camaro5 is not here for members to use as a bully pulpit.

Do not harrass any sponsor here period. If you've purchased a product and weren't happy, we have a Feed back forum for just that.

Otherwise encouraging people to call a company to harass them, when we already know what the answer is gonna be, is not gonna fly here.

Let it go... Do you like admitting defeat? Maybe they still want to produce the kit but can't go any further with it?

Cut them some slack. Just like with any other issue here at Camaro5. you get to state your case, then move on. LPE has chosen to handle the situation in a way that is not acceptable to you... Fair complaint.

However, They are not obligated to do or say anything more.

So this is where it ends.

you've made your point, they've chosen to address it in their own way, right or wrong its not up to us.

You don't like it, you've said so.

We're done with this particular approach to "motivating" companies to do what "we" want.
