It makes me wonder if the factory mid pipes may be a bottle neck for shorty headers and maybe these mid pipes might help shorty headers? From what I've seen, people don't replace the stock midpipes when swapping to shorties and long tube headers do away with the factory mid pipes all together. Would be real interesting to see what kind of gains the JBA mid pipes gain on the dyno...

I think the gains are going to the hi-flow mid pipes vs the 4 catted stock mid pipes
Shorty vs a manifold isnt gonna be a big bottle neck but again who knows for sure.

No. The back ends of the midpipes fit into the factory slip fit coupler clamps and the front flanges bolt to your stock (or shorty) exhaust manifolds' flange.

i'd love to see a comparison of 2 cars. one with shorties and catted mid pipe vs. a LTheader/hiflo cat combo of a big brand(ARH, Kooks, etc.)

I had the JBA Shorties and mid-pipes before changing to the fulll JBA
1 7/8' longtubes all the way back. They shorties and Mids were not as loud as the full 3" system on the car as, I had a 2.5" axel-back before. That is because I went from 2.5" to 3: = deeper sound.

I think the JBA Mid-pipes gave me the most gain out of my first setup. Now the prices have come way down on the mids so if you buy the JBA Mid-pipes you will not be dissapointed.

Thumbs up No Check Engine Light One Week After Install

I've daily driven my car since last Saturday when I performed the install. No check engine light.
