Sorry, I can't comment on anything specific, I haven't heard how long. So Scotty's 4 weeks is probably the best date.

Since the 2011 CTF at the Fest had the Hurst Shifter, it has to be pretty close.

The FACTORY HURST unit is an entire unit with the carrier assembly. it has already been validated and approved by GM. In fact the intial production batch is being machined as we speak!. The waiting and delay by GM is finally about over

Is this something that the dealer will be able to order and install later? I would assume so I just got word my 2011 IBM SS/RS got a VIN today, so I missed the boat with mine but really want it installed eventually.

What is the advantage over the Hurst Camaro Billet Plus 2 Shifter?

I would order the car then get the Barton or the MGW. Waiting 4 weeks for a shifter with great after market options now no way.

*UPDATE*

6-26-2010

Ok so I couldn't wait any longer! As of 6-26, Dealer still showed Hurst option at a Zero. I dropped the Hurst option and re-ordered car, now at status 2000, should go to production much sooner now. Decided it is not worth the wait. I will explore the aftermarket options later.

I installed the after market Hurst myself and was no big deal. It doesn't rattle or vibrate and is 100% better than the stock shifter. Well worth the money.

I also wanted/Ordered the Hurst-Short Throw Shifter back in May...I was advised by Members of this forum to drop it if I wanted my Camaro earlier rather than later.
Glad I dropped that option as it still is not available from the factory.....
I reordered without the KAE Option and now my Camaro has been built and is now in Transit (Sitting on a Railcar in Toronto)

Doesnt look much different to me. There are only so many parts in a shifter. I had them go ahead and send the car and then install it at the dealership.

Screw Hurst get a Barton - Had Hurst before in other cars - Barton Industries is A+
I ordered my 2SS/RS in Oct '08 and I almost opt'd for the Hurst - luckily I dropped it, might still be waiting for my Orange Crussh

Maybe, but GM doesn;t offer the "other" shifters as an O.E. shifter option.
