Personally, the 2008's are going for $34000 now, with really low miles, and with NPP exhaust they kick out 436HP stock with the LS3 upgrade that came in 2008. There's also critical upgrades in the steering that came in 2008, and variable rate steering as well as upgraded active handling software AND hardware came in 2009. NEW 2009's can be had for $39,995.

Top that off with the revamping and upgrading of the interior finishes and even the steering wheel in 2008, oh and new auto and manual transmissions.

I wish you would have asked before you bought, but you're gonna LOVE it.
$34000, that is a great price here in canada a new 2009 base coupe goes for 60000,I would love to get a Z51 coupe!

Everyone should own a Corvette at least one in lifetime. I've been blessed and have owned 8.

That's one mean vette. And I bet it's easy to drive as a DD even with all the HP.

As we say over on the Corvette Forum - Miles of Smiles.

I think you did great! This coming from the man who did the same thing for a 2007 with 10k miles on it.

I'd do the same, but my Wife hates Vettes. In order for me to get my/our dream car, we agreed we BOTH have to like it. Fair, but it sucks kinda because I would love a Corvette.

You're never going to find too many Camaro enthusiasts complaining that you bought a Corvette

I have been struggling with the same debate myself. I have a long history with Camaro that dates back to my 69 in the 80's. I would love a new Camaro but I am struggling to wait and pay MSRP when I can get a C6 Corvette for litterally a couple of grand more. I love both cars but I have never owned a vette and have wanted one since I was 5 and went for my first ride in my uncles. I suspect I will wait till I can drive the Camaro and then make my final decision but I am leaning in the same direction that you went in.

Beautiful car, I was looking at a 2007 myself. The depreciation on them is horrific! Used really seems the way to go if you want a vette.

1 - you have your new toy, we don't.
2 - at that price, you stole it.
3 - it is hotter than hell.
4 - when you get tired of it, you can trade it in on a 2SS!

Now, get out the camcorder and let's hear those pipes! I need to hear her sing. As a Vette owner, I am always happy to see another person to wave to on the street! Beautiful car.

The real question, and the only one that really matters, is do YOU feel like you've made the better choice? Anything any of us have to say really doesn't matter.

What you purchased is a nice car, however, so congrats!

I feel good about my decision.

1) It is almost a brand new vette, used helps w/ taxes & insurance
2) It is Victory Red
3) It has a 6 speed manual w/ 465 HP
4) Didn't pay MSRP, can trade in for 2SS Vert down the road
5) Extended warranty until 2013
6) Insurance only went up $265 every six months
7) Damn sure is fun to drive
8) Wife loves it

Negative -
1) I have loved the new Camaro from the moment I first laid eyes on it.

Always someday, right?

That's a sick vette congrats.

There are some big differences but they are also tied together in heritage and Chevy blood.

As far as the question "Did I do good". Well that's really a personal decision. The cars are a bit too different to say one is better. Faster yes, more comfortable? no. etc.
