Has anyone bought anything from SonicElectronix before?

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anybody had any experience with purchasing something from SonicElectronix, and if they are a good online store to get stuff from.

I am looking at this, the Pioneer AVIC-Z120bt, to go with my Metra kit:
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...IC-Z120BT.html

The price is good, and it is free shipping. Just wanted to know if they were reputable.

Thanks!

Great! Thanks!

I've read some reviews on them and they have all been positive, but it's always good to hear from other folks that have dealt with them too

Real good until you have an issue. Read the warranty info they exclude anything that can happen. Nothing is covered under warranty. Had a friend that bought some subs from there when they quit working they wouldn't help him. He contacted the manufacturer and was told they were not an authorized dealer and he had no warranty.

..couldn't get replacements from Sonix, I take it? Any vendor that is an authorized dealer will usually charge you extra for carrying such name brands, aka JL Audio, etc., guess it's insurance..

if they are not a true authorized dealer for a line they sell you may have problems if there are problems with the products.

they also have been known for selling B-stock (repaired products) as new.
serial numbers removed from amps.
numerours other underhanded and sideways techniques.

To me they are the best when it comes to prices, warranty, and service. about 2 years ago I bought a kenwood receiver with built in hard drive for $400. from sonic. Crutchfield and everybody else wanted $650. The only thing is they run out of stuff quick.

Not arguing the point, I am certain that the stories come from somewhere, but this statement is made about every online seller... how is it possible that every online retailer other than crutchfield or parts express is crooked?

have you had any personal experience with the "sideways techniques"? I keep seeing dealers warn people away from buying online but have never had a problem with warranty or merchandise personally. Whenever I needed assistance I called them up or sent them an email and had excellent customer service.

actually yes I have had problems with these types of online "retailers" had a customer when I worked for a shop in Denver, that brought in his grear he bought from Woofers ect. we installed all the gear. and upon firing up the system we found two blown tweeters from the DLS comps we installed and the 2 right side channel blown on the 4ch amp.
Customer contacted the manufacturer about getting the products warrantied. they stated Woofers ect was not authorized to sell their product and there would be no warranty. he then contact woofers ect. and got the run around about the issues and was even told that either he or the shop I worked for were responsible.
Finally got them to agree that they would take the products back and replace them ONLY after they inspected them. customer ships gear back...and waits.... and waits..... and waits... 90 days and no contact so he begins calling them... gets stories of they never recieved the gear (tho tracking number showed it being signed for) finally admitted they had his gear... then weeks of run around about how they would take care of it... finally told him they were sending out replacement gear. what they did not tell him is it would not be the same as what he originally bought. ended up with a package with 2 cheap ass BOSS amps and some DUAL coax speakers. (big departure from higher end CDT and Memphis amps he purchased.)
but apparhently there is osme clause in thier "Fine" print that allows them to do so.

Being in the industry we hear these stories ALL the time.
