Once and for all, can someone tell me if the 2010 V6 puts out 304 HP, or 312 HP?

Before I get flamed, I did do a search. Some have insisted the engines are identical and the tests were different; others say the engines are subtly different, hence the horse power "upgrade."

If the 2011 and 2010 are all-but-identical, why isn't my 2010 2LT RS a 312 HP?

Let the debate begin!

Engine is certified 312, period. Debate over.

they are the same.....and your 2LT, just like mine have 312 h.p.

The reason: the original numbers were taken from the Caddy set-up (same engine) and used their numbers. Chevy had not gotten the ACTUAL SAE H.P. numbers yet when all the info was released.....it was released AND CERTIFIED AT 312 H.P....but Chevy did not care to reprint all the literature and update their website for the few people that really care, US. That is it in a nutshell. as Robert Ripley said "BELIEVE IT OR NOT!"

Although the timing of the first annoucement was suspicious...IIRC it was right after Mustang boasted 1 more hp than Camaro. Then, o hai our cars are actually 312 all along. Not that I'm complaining.

i may be wrong on this one but i believe the 11 is faster than the 10... overall weight maybe???
