ViperTomcat, since you have clearly taken it upon yourself to represent your car and the Dodge brand and derail the topic of this thread, will you post a video of a stock RT posting a time comparable to a stock SS?

Im sure you can understand our skepticism.

No, but you can feel free to check my scanned time slip, I have no slips of my car in a bone stock configuration. The 13.266 is just a CAI in a DA of around 1600+ feet, without a tune and nothing else.

I will not continue to discuss the R/T as a moderator has already not so subtly dropped a hint that it is not the topic of this thread.

Oh god not the whole "I need to see a video" thing. Go to a Challenger site and view the times they are running.

Anywho, back on topic. looks like only the SE and R/T will be getting the electric steering, they are keeping the hydraulic steering for the 6.4 SRT8. My guess it the 6.4 SRT will have a couple tenths on an LS3 in the 1/4 mile......

I doubt it. Maybe 2 tenths if the car hooks up well, 1 tenth if it spins a bit . The SRT needed 458 crank HP to break even with the LS3 SS. 22+ on top of that may earn a tenth.

My guess:

12.8 will be the standard "stated" time with glory passes being around 12.6 and bad passes being around 13.0/13.1

"A couple tenths" is a bit of a reach, victory is in no way assured.

Just saying. People on here seem to think that stock for stock an R/T will give an L99 a show, when it really won't.

Heated argument! So far I noticed only Dodge guys posting on here defending their cars. No one else like Dodge? or what?

I'm (in all honestly) not too impressed with the R/T's They feel slow, they are heavy as hell. I did see one (stock for stock) spank a SRT8 at a track though, which was funny to see. I believe there was just a bad driver in the SRT8 though.

Both cars are sexy as hell, but my vote is on the Camaro...call the R/T underrated? So are the L99's. I get shit all the time by people because my car is an auto, until they race me that is. I will be getting a tune next week, maybe then I can hit the track up and grab some #'s I wish I took it to the track when it was stock, it would be cool to have some comparison numbers with my car.

The L99 is not underrated the RWHP shows it is making around 400 at the crank now more, thing is the R/Ts dynos are also showing they make around 390-400 at the crank...... THAT is underrated......

So far you proof is a modified R/T with a 111 MPH (bad driver) and a supposed street race, err, race on a closed road in Mexico with no real info, the Challenger may have had 16 mexicans in the backseat and trunk trying to cross the border into the US on the closed Mexican roads.

I need video or it didn't happen! HA!

The R/T @111mph was an auto and I was trying to prove that my track sucks, so my track numbers are skewed.

Secondly, an R/T will NOT hang with an L99 top end. I gurantee this. If you ever get a chance to drive an L99 you will quickly learn why. They have a LOT of low end and top end, not much middle. 3rd gear is our weakness, stock. We have more torque down low than LS3 and top end we seem to climb like beasts. Trust me. R/T is a nice car and probably the best chally to mod, but stock for stock, it will not beat an L99.

I think the point is they are pretty damned close IE drivers race in the 1/4 mile from a stop only, ya know legal stuff No doubt the L99 has more up top, but in a 1/4 mile they are close
