The avalanche would be great if you need a general purpose vehicle, it makes more sense for the average buyer than most trucks and SUV's out there. It can do pretty much anything except haul lumber and the family. If you can only have 1 vehicle for the family its a better buy than the Camaro. If you have a family hauler and/or something to go to home depot with, I recommend getting the Camaro.

Get both!
![]() No seriously, if you need the functionality of the Avalanche, then buy a used one and drive it for a year, then consider trading it in on a Camaro SS. Something like this - Link Or any of these - Link My sister had an '04 Avalanche and loved it until it started having all kinds of issues around 100k miles. She also complained that the plastic trim pieces had started to fade and it made the rest of the truck look like crap, even though the painted areas were still nice. Unless you actually need the functionality of a truck everyday, get a used one to do the work when you need it and get a new Camaro for everyday driving. I'm retiring my '97 C1500 next summer, after driving it daily for 9 years, and relegating it weekend chores and helping friends move. |

If you need a truck, buy a real truck, if you want a performance car, buy the Camaro. The Avalanche is not a real substitute for a pickup truck or a van, it IMHO has a much too small truck bed to do any truly useful hauling.

I know what it is like to be on the fence! On the one hand the Avalanche is way more practicle. It is Cheaper, it is a nice vehicle. You can tow things, put things in the back like lumber and fertilizer and tools and other guy stuff. Of course your insurance will be less. Your wife would probably rather see you get the Avalanche. You wont get tickets or kill yourself. Those are just a few of the reasons why you should go with what your mind is telling you. Now go with your heart and get your freak on in your brand new 2010 SS CAMARO!

Choose the vehicle that fits your needs better.
If the Avalanche fits those needs at the moment, go for it. If you're choosing the Avalance soley based on how much you like it v. how much you need it, you may second guess yourself when the Camaro arrives. ![]() Don't forget, the Avalanche will probably use more gas, and the "fun" quotent may not be equal to driving the Camaro. Good luck in your decision. At least they're both GM vehicles you're considering. |

If you don't need a truck anymore, and Camaro fits your lifestyle, I'd go Camaro. I like the idea of the Avalanche, but I have a feeling they won't be around too much longer.

The avalanche is a beautiful truck, but if you don't need it completely, get the Camaro
