This is pretty neat if you like electric cars.

Cute. I'm all for reducing our dependence on foreign oil. I would have been more impressed if he had kept his mouth shut at that.
He needs to get off his environmental pedestal. It is likely that his electricity was generated by either coal or nuclear power, each having their own unique environmental implications. On top of that his batteries aren't exactly eco-friendly. With that said my grades for him are in: A+ for engineering and ingenuity A+ for not sending our $ to the Middle East F- for environmental understanding |

That's great. Very cool.
But, That video is pretty biased. He's an 11 sec car going up against 12-13 sec cars. Granted he's street legal. But, they never talk about how much he spent to get the car to go that fast. There are a lot of street legal 11 sec cars out there. The vid is Way biased in my opinion. But VERY COOL, that's for sure. Can you imagine the Volt running this well.

Yeah it's cute, but it's not like the electricity is free. What is with the West Coast and their pedestals?

Couple things, whoever that electrical engineer was (the one that said electric cars would top 18s) he either had know clue what he was talking about, or there were a whole bunch of limitations that weren't mentioned.
Also, 20 minutes to recharge for another 1/4 mile run? Wow. No, its not free. Its ~1/5 the cost of gasoline. And in the US, half the electricity comes from non-fossil fuel sources.
