Eibach lowering kit on its way, anyone know a good installer? (montreal region)
Well the Eibach pro-kit is on its way ordered from performanceparts.com.Should arrive in next few days.Have heard people having issues with bumpy performance because of the preload not being set properly on install ( huh
).Need a reputable shop that can install align and set camber etc for a professional set-up. Anyone have any clue, just drop by the post and add your suggestions for reputable shops in and around Montreal (north shore, south shore etc). You know pics will be up as soon as installed ! quoted from another thread! Front Camber -1.25 Toe - OUT .1 Rear Camber - 1/2 the Front Toe - Zero . " Have the tech loosen every rotational bolt / bush in the suspension. Drive the car SLOWLY and CAREFULLY around the lot with the bolts a couple of turns loose. Put it back on the alignment lift. Without taking any weight off the wheels, tighten all the bolts. All the bushes are now timed to your new lowered ride height. " I've looked at all the sellers of lowered springs instructions and no one mentions this step. I wonder just how many folks or install shops either drop spring or coil over users actually loosened every suspension point and recenter the bushings. I was well aware of this step but this thread seems to be the first to mention it is necessary. Ed M. This is something that should be done whenever ride height is changed. It takes some time and effort and that is why IMO that this step is skipped. What I have not mentioned in this thread is if you skip this step it can lead to premature wear and or failure of the rubber bushes. The rear lower in control arm bush is a steel jacketed bush. It is never going to adjust by itself to the new ride height. It will only fatigue into a more relaxed state. Other bushes that are rubber could in theory eventually rotate to the proper position, but the OE design is that the ferule twist and the bush not rotate. I cannot speak to why this is not standard operating procedure for other companies because it is the correct way to do the job. UPDATE!!! 2010-07-07 My springs are here!!!!! Getting em installed at the local MIDAS shop near my house..Tech said hes done hundreds of lowered cars, itl be his first 2010 camaro. I downloaded pfadt spring install guide and bringing it with me tommorow morning... Il post pics with the new dropped car, Thanks too 99 i found a new name for my car ...Calling it "Sergeant" Last edited by Ex-stang; 07-07-2010 at 08:32 PM. |

I have the pro-kit installed on my car. I did it at my local garage that I've been going to for years and had NO issues at all, and he is by no means a specialist. He has done the springs on 4 of my other cars but the Camaro has been the most valuable to date. I wasn't overly worried about installing springs its a straight forward install for any mechanic that knows how to uninstall and install springs.

never hear of "timing' the bushings, but you will love the lowered stance.
