I spent over an hour bs'ing with my salesman and his manager, about the whole tracking process, and how the cars get delivered. This is what I learned about our local rail yard, or what they call "port". Cars come in and get unloaded in a line, these lines are long and there multiple lines up against each other. So he says its basically where the car is in this line, they sometimes can get the car moved up, or put a rush on that car. It still depends though where the car is in this line and if its physically possible for that car to be moved out of its place in line. They did call the yard and put a rush on my car, I don't know if the yard was able to move it up in line or not. They did however, have it delivered ahead of other cars they had coming to them. I guess when they were loading cars they held a couple back and put mine on instead. They told me that most cars spend a week or more at the yard, but they try to put priority on customer orders, and equinox's apparently (chevy's hottest seller at the moment, according to my dealer).

Thanks, I know the wait sucks, but it will be worth it, just hang in there.

Thank you for all the help and support. Are you gonna put the paint protection film on the front fascia? Are you coming to Papa Johns in Hazlet tonight?

For right now no clear bra, I did hear the paint is thin, and prone to scratches though. I will have to see in the future, after this purchase funds are tight. I know nothing about papa johns, or Hazlet? There is a group that meets tonight somewhere in northern NJ, and there are a few classic car shows around, but I don't have the time to go these during the week.

Have any of you guys with the manual transmission experience the skip shift. I don't understand whats the purpose of this feature, and how do feel about it. I personally don't like it ,and will be scouring the forums tonight for a solution, lol.

Plus is it me or does reverse feel strange to put into gear, I'm use to cars where you push the stick down and over, or all the way to the left where there is a notch you must push past.

you will get used to the tranny

people who buy a skip shift eliminator are dumb. Its a hoax

Get a tune and get rid of it or do a little reading and go to radio shack.
It clearly exists to piss people off.

I was just reading up on it, and I understand a little better now how it works. Actually the concept if it works can be very useful. I didn't realize its such a small window where this takes effect (15-20mph), but at 15-20mph in 4th wouldn't that be to high of a gear, I can see the car bucking and practically stalling. Keep in mind, the first time I saw this skip shift I actually left the car in neutral till I could put into 2nd. I have one solution, I'll just drive it a little harder, problem solved.

Ive hit it once. Was taking off like grandpa in some tiny town on my trip home. Had the po-po behind me and it was 25 mph. Other than that I take off hard. Ill ditch it once I get a tune though.

I can tell you I hate the CAGS "feature". I know it can be defeated with a little more gas/rpm.

I just hate that it seems to happen at inconvenient times.

Otherwise, I love my car....

I've only got 80 miles, but I've been through a small monsoon tonight no issues with the car holding its own in rain.

The night I got the car, I only drove it home from the dealer. So last night I played with my toy. WOW this car is awesome, While I was out I met up with a local camaro club, a bunch of real cool enthusiastic 5th gen owners. I put about 60 miles on it last night. Cags is a little annoying but coming from VW GTI, where I always shift around 2600-2900 rpm its really not an issue. I do find myself relearning how to drive stick in this car, I have stalled 3 times so for (very embarrassing).

How is everyone here breaking there car in, I've been reading up on this and it seems the most popular way is to drive it hard. I've been driving it like I normally would drive, but I would like to break it in with best performance and reliability for the future. I hope everyone who has received there car is enjoying as much as I am, and those who haven't hang in there it is truly worth the wait.

I picked mine up on Wednesday night, I've only managed around 60 miles on it thus far. I started breaking it in softly but I quickly decided that it would be best to drive it hard to break it in, because it's just so hard not to..

I've got another stupid question. I just got an "at customer location" notice when I checked with the rail yard. What does that mean?

According to camarotracking.com it means that the rail car is in a position at the terminal to be unloaded. Is waiting to get moved over to the unloading area....check back tonight or tomorrow morning and it should say empty...which means that your car has touched the ground and it is sitting in the rail yard waiting for a truck to pick it up to your dealer.

So I assume from there you are just waiting for a truck to take it the rest of the way home. Mine sat in the yard for 7 days before a truck brought it up, hopefully yours is quicker.
