The most impressive thing is at 47 he is doing it. Most guys when they hit about 40 start losing that edge. You lose that go get em kick ass mentality and subscribe to a more low key lifestyle filled with cream filled pastries and lovely hops and barley flavored drinks. Ya got sum Bawls my man!!!!!!! Way to go!

For myself, I rarely indulge in cream filled pastries, but I'm quite familiar with the amber colored beverages you speak of. lol!

Thanks, guys!

My weakness is the dang snack vending machine at work! And it doesn't help that the cafeteria at work has great food including GREAT DESSERTS!!! But I have switched from chocolate cake to the fruit plate!

Would like to lose another 50 to 60 before the year ends!

Congrats John. Losing weight at our age is a battle. Keep up the good work and know it is for the better in the long run.

Yeah, weight is coming off slower than I hoped... Other thing I noticed is it takes me longer to recover from a tough work out..

Still riding myself at age 54. I can go out off-road for 1-2 hours maintaining my heart rate at my 85-90% rate which is the most efficient for burning calories and fat from the body. I've not done nearly as much riding this year due to the 90+ degree heat. I perspire too much and would need to carry too much water.

Nice bike by the way. I just miss seeing the GT Triple Triangle frame design like in years past. Been a Bike Mechanic way too long....LOL

Thanks! When I went shopping for the new bike I looked at a lot of the usual suspects... Specialized, Trek, Diamond Back, etc... GT never even crossed my mind... Shop owner pulled this one out and said give it a try.. was a little bit above my budget but thought what the heck... Took it around the block and I was in love! Was exactly what I was looking for and the fit was absolutely perfect! In fact it is one of the best bikes I've even owned (and I've owned a few... LOL)

As for the heat... I love the heat! Thins my oil out and makes my engine run easier!
