I agree, once all the extra needed upgrades are done, this supercharger seems less super. I think I'll be waiting to see how this all plays out before I make my decision.

I think GMPP just priced themselves out of the blower market.
If it retains the warranty the price is worth it.

Question is, can you now order a LS3 SS and have this installed from the factory........

Kinda my point Its more than just the above mentioned parts, the front drive will NOT like up with the Camaro FEAD.

Interesting. I really really want to see what kind of numbers this puts out on an LS3.
I still think the E-force is a better buy for me, but I might change my mind soon.

Not likely.
But it would be possible to order it and have installed at the dealership the day it arrives.

What are the differences between the LSA and the LS9?

How will an LS3 equipped with this new GM supercharger compare to the upcoming Z28 (LSA-equipped) Camaro?

Thanks,
Bruce

- when paired with the correct drive system and LS9 internals -

LS9 Kit comes with the Roots-style supercharger, intercooler kit, and gasket set
This appears to be just the manifold/intercooler. No drive system, no calibrations. CARB EO certification requires that every item changed on the car be included in the kit the EO # is attached to.
Example the GM E-Rod kit. http://tinyurl.com/28vl6jb
This will be sold as an "off road use only" part. (I hope I'm wrong, but....) No warranty, no emissions certification.
Not sure why anyone would do this over an LS9 crate engine, if you wanted an all "GM" SC car.

Quote:
LS9 has been in validation before Edelbrock Edelbrock still has runner length going for it though. I wonder how much talled the Edelbrock system is.
The LS9 requires a raised/window hood on a C6 ZR1, the Edelbrock fits under a stock hood.

The emissions cert is just around the corner. Im almost positive they had the Camaro stuff done, but wanted to get the Vette cert as well. So they opted to cert the Vette, which would grandfather in the Camaro. Smart marketing on KB's part.
I have a hard time seeing KB getting an EO on their kit. Nothing against them, just that a 2010 Camaro kit pretty much "requires" using the stock airbox lid for certification. Does KB have any EO'd systems for other cars?

Quote:
I love competition, maybe this will help drive down the price on some of the other kits. I've got no doubt you'll be able to get these discounted to the point that they are competitive.
Don't expect that to happen. Not till EATON reduces the rotor assembly price to everyone (and why would they?).
GMPP is notorious for having prices 40% higher than the aftermarket. The part goes thru to many steps in their distribution chain. The exception are crate engines. There they rule!

If you want an EO'd, complete, bolt-on supercharger kit you'll need to look to the aftermarket. God Bless Em:flag2:

I am also having trouble understanding the positive displacement blower craze on the 6.2 myself. My question is why aren't they selling a centrifugal blower instead? The car already has a ton of torque, and traction off the line has been a constant problem for me. A centrifugal seems to make more sense to me, and centrifugal blowers are usually cheaper as well. If I need some more ability to uselessly spin the tires from a standing start I could always add gears. Can anyone explain why the market seems to be making my logic faulty?

L99

What would you need to do to make it work with the L99?
