If you get winter tires you should really only have the on if the temp is below 45F and if there is snow or ice on the ground. Otherwise above 45F then can be tore up pretty quick.
Me ive got a 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 that im going to enjoy during snow. Last year i had to try and ram through the snow in the drive way but then back up and shovel out some and do it again. Took like 30min just to get out. It will be nice to have some ground clearance when winter comes. |

I plan on doing the same for my 1st winter. Plus I don't want the salt on the roads tearing into my paint. Add to that the two bucket washing method can't be fun either in the winter & already have sworn to never use a car wash establishment with my baby.

I have the 2LT/RS and replaced the 20" Pirelli summer tires with 19" Pirelli scorpion Ice & Snow tires. I was amazed at how easy it was to drive in the snow. The only time I had trouble was when we got hit by two blizzards in a week. I cleared the 6 ft of snow in my driveway, but they didn't plow the roads for a week, so I wasn't going anywhere (but neither was anyone else).

I, too, bought a set of "Heritage" steel wheels from a forum member. They come standard with BF Goodrich T/A Radial all-season tires.
I got mine for $400 plus delivery with only 250 miles on them (mounted, balanced, with TPMS and ready to go). Many LS owners are upgrading to custom wheels, so they're looking to get rid of their "steelies" and make some cash. Just keep in mind: the TPMS sensors are expensive, so make sure they're included. Also the lug nuts are different, and come with center caps, so make sure those come with the wheels too. Then you just change them at home in the fall and back in the spring -- torque wrench and floor jack are all you need! I drove last winter with all-seasons on a RWD Crossfire -- no problem. A hundred pounds of play sand in the trunk ($6.00) did help.
