Feel like I'm gonna cry ...
The last few months have been terrible. Dad left for Iraq for a year, so now I can't build my car with him. Lost job position, went from $19.50 to $14.60. No O/T or D/T allowed. Now I have to sell my '77 just to pay the bills.:( And there's a very good chance I could loose my '01 if I can't get it refinanced to lower payments..I seriously feel like I'm gonna cry...

Hang in there buddy! No shame in crying either, get it out and get on with climbing out of your hole. Get as much help and moral support as you can. Take care!

I feel your pain man. I'm soon to be out of my night job due to the company not making enough business. My pay will decrease by $7.25/hr and will have to think about how I am going to pull the Camaro off :(

You need to grow up and recognize that while having a nice ride is a perfectly fine goal, getting into one before you have your finances in order is a sure way to turn something that you should be enjoying into something that is a burden and a heartache. There will always be desirable cars, Camaro or not, so don't get caug up in having to be one of the first buyers of a particular model. Just my two cents. |

I feel your pain. I and my wife were both out of work for >6 months due to illness. That was a couple years ago and the bleeding that started then is killing us. We had a lot of savings for emergencies like that but the shit that happened was more expensive than anyone could ever expect.
We're now making 140% of how much we made before that, but now all the bills are a month (or more) late and we're struggling just to figure out a way to catch up. I want to keep the house, I need to keep the truck, the economy car pays for itself even with gas prices down (long commute and aging truck that needs repairs), we've cut all our bills as much as possible, and after a recent string of expensive unexpected home maintenance and medical emergencies we're up shit's creek with a turd for a paddle. Needless to say, if there's a Camaro in my future, it's not going to be brand new when they first show up on dealer lots.

![]() if you have to stretch to get it, your better off not getting it. My advice is wait. Obviously its your situation and i dont know all the details, but if your having that much trouble the last thing you need is to complicate things. Wait a year or two, get your ducks in a row, and pick up a lightly used SS with 5k miles on it for 25k in your favorite color. Used cars are a much better value anyway.

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

First of all when you get a chance to thank your DAD for serving and keep safe(keep his head on the swivel) for me. I too have a lot of friends overseas in both Iraq and Afghanistan and it sucks (can't imagine if it was my father). Try to not let the current down turn in your financial situation get you down. Having been through same stuff in the early 80's it can help to stay positive. I have had to down size and sell things I didn't want to give up, but ended up doing better once I got past the bump in the road.

![]() if they can figure a way to get the camaro into thier budgets they can do what ever they want. Im tired of hearing people tell other people to get thier priorities straight....you dont know thier whole situation so you have no idea what they are capable of.

We all know the OP's situation. He started this thread by describing it. He's ****ed and can't even keep his 1977 Camaro.

Yeah this isn't about getting a '10. I'm more stressed about about my dad. took 17 years to find him and now that hes in Iraq, the stress of him possibly not coming home ... well thats more then i wanna think about.
