smelly

ok so I got long tube arh headers with cats and xpipes. I also just added a roto fab intake and qtp cutouts. I am very pleased with the dyno run and the new performance of car Theres just one thing some time I can smell the exhaust fumes i mean not super bad but its noticeable, and obviously I can smell it lot more when im running with my cutouts open but is it normal to smell that stuff when they are closed. Im also curious and want to ask did the people with arh headers get a new sound coming from the the engine area?

Wished I could help you out bro. but I cant. It will be interesting to hear what some of the other more qualified members have to say about it though.

Im not an expert but it sounds like your cutouts have a leak when closed....might want to inspect the work to see if the cutout isnt fully sealing or the welds have a crack/leak

Depends on how high flow your cats are.. some wont keep 100% of the smell away.

I have LT's, HF cats- very quiet in the engine compartment. Can't smell any exhaust unless directly behind the car. Sounds like you have an exhaust leak- Need to check from header mounting bolts, O2's, all welds, all connections, to the muffler tips. If you can smell fumes inside the car= bad thing! CO2 build up could put you to sleep permanetlly.

Ok stupid question. If I purchased the arh longtube headers and x pipes does that come with high flow cats or could my shop put the original cats on them? If arh do come with cats is there better cats I can buy
