In fact, it isn't even close to the same with the basic basis for the engines being different. The 5.0L Cammer is based on an overbored 4.6L while the upcoming 5.0L production piece is based on a destroked, and slightly poked, 5.4L.
I have to ask the question. If Ford is making such a Mustang next year, and it will be competitive with the Camaro, why do you spend so much time on a Camaro website? Just to see the competition? It just does'nt make a lot of sense to me. I can respect the Mustang and their faithful, but you always seem so surprised when people react to your comments when you are obviously only here to antagonize Camaro fans.

Whenever I see threads like these with posters like him the same question always enters my mind: Why are you here?

I browse Mustang, Challenger, and G8 boards all the time (I never post because, well, I'm just not that into posting) just to see what's going on with the rest of the American Muscle crowd, but never have I felt the urge to defend the Camaro until my sword was bloodied, my sheild was broken and my body was adorned with arrows like this guy has. Now I respect passion but seriously, although it's been very entertaining, take your ball and go home... you're not going to win any arguments AGAINST the Camaro with your imaginary 5.0L engine that you have no concrete evidence of... on a Camaro forum... especially this one.

I like Mustangs, I do... but your car in it's present forum sucks ass against our car that isn't even in show rooms yet. When you catch that unicorn and Ford puts 400 horses into the Mustang, come back here and feel free to type in all caps 'I TOLD YOU SO'! To be honest I don't think it will happen because I don't see how Ford will be able to make an engine so vastly superior to the current 4.6 WITHOUT increasing the Mustang's price [i]again[/]. And history tells us simply this... Ford rather be slower and sell more (which isn't a bad thing).

Untill then stop doing this , because you're making us

Why shouldn't Mustang fans check out the Camaro forums? Why shouldn't they also check out the Challenger forums, Corvette forums, or BMW forums for that matter? Can you only like one car at a time? Is it not possible to learn something by visiting the other forums and asking questions or posting opinions?

And what's wrong with debate?

I know a lot of Mustang owners, including myself, who would switch to the Camaro without a second thought if the actual production version lives up to the hype. I can't speak for the other guy, but I'm here on the Camaro forum to learn. And have a little fun at the same time.

That is fine you are here to learn and ask questions. There are others here that do the same. I go to some of the sites he and other members mentioned to see just what exactly is being posted about the Mustang. I read and if I dont like what is said I dont post just take it for what it is worth. Unverified information on the internet. He on the other hand is not. He was wrong and it happens you cant always be right. Instead of just comming out and saying so he backpeddled and said something completly different. Basically he is what is known as a troll. He goes to a site and when someone says something he disagrees with he goes out and starts an argument for the sake of arguing. What did he expect when going to a Camaro site and basically said this is what Ford is going to do and was wrong about it. He gets upset and post more crap spewing from his mind. Ive said it in a post before and ill say it again. Ill believe what he says when I see it in writing from Ford till then its heresay and speculation...

Questioning why there are Mustang/Challenger guys here reminds me of this very old saying:
"Know your enemy and know yourself, any you need not fear the result of a thousand battles"

And also, lets be honest with ourselves, there were Camaro guys on Mustang forums saying the Camaro will weigh 3700 lbs and the 2010 Z28 will feature the LS7/LSA/LS9. Oops.

i agree. all this bashing on 'competitor' forums (especially about rumored items) is about like going to your friend's house and calling his wife fat & ugly. it's kinda rude and uncalled for. playful banter is cool... it makes for good conversation, but being a martyr for your favorite car is silly and lowers the reputation of fellow enthusiasts.

I have been a pretty big mustang fan all my life. I have had a few of them and have always been happy with them. My current mustang is a 93 cobra. I sometimes look at what the competition has to offer. The last camaro was faster in stock form, and it did have some nice features, but I liked the smaller, more nimble feeling the Mustang had over GM's boat.

I was really excited back when the 05 mustang concept came out, but then the tail lights got ugly and the interior got crammed full of really cheap plastic, not to mention the poor design. The car still looks good going down the road, but I knew it wasn't for me. This 2010 mustang is a bad dream come true. What is ford thinking with those fisher price tail lights?! I heard they were re-designing the car to "look smaller". That's so people will think it gets better MPG, right? A 15hp increase, that's it?! I doubt this has anything to do with Ford's current financial problems, since they knew this camaro was coming a long time ago. It was predicted a long time ago that Ford was going to fall asleep at the wheel.

When I saw the camaro concept, I got excited again. The car looks really good inside and out, and should be a great performer. On paper, there is very little the 2010 Mustang has going for it compared to this car. My 93 is ready for a new home. I already know there won't be a new mustang replacing it(2010 or 2011). Hopefully this new camaro delivers the goods. This car is a big step towards saving GM.

Exactly. Like my wife likes to point out when my kids do something that gets them punished. "You did the same thing when you were a kid, your parents told me."

Yeah...and I guarantee when I got caught I was walking funny the rest of the day. It's the natural order of things!

I'm here because i love Camaros I owned one at one time, but i never left Camaroz28.com when i traded it for my 1st Mustang. I still visit Miata.net even though i got rid of mine about 3 years ago(awesome little car). The Mustang is my favorite car,but the Camaro is in the top 5,i don't understand why some people can't like both. Also,if you don't like one or another,at least understand the appeal of the other car. That's my only problem,it's when some knucklehead starts spouting off some ignorant mess about my favorite car, that's when i jump in to defend it. I'd do the same for a F-body or a Miata on any other board.
