I happen to think that it looks right at home on the 2010 Camaro and I can tell you that mine is going to have one!
The hood may have been meant for the Corvette, but so was the L72 427, the C5R 427, and the ZO6 LS7. I'm sure glad that we got to borrow those parts from the Corvette too

the TR-6060 transmission's used on cars like the Corvette ZR1 and SRT-10 Viper. does that mean GM shouldn't've used it for the Camaro? i'd love to have a hood like that!

Thanks for the warm welcome!
I have been reading posts here on this site and have also had emails and conversations regarding our project, with members. Thanks very much for your interest. However; I believe some clarification is needed. First and foremost; The 2010 Nickey Camaro Stage I, II or III, project is a work in progress. Very little is set in stone at this point. The Vintage Style advertisement posted on this site was finalized many months ago. It was designed to layout some "broad stokes" regarding the Stage Options. It was in no way meant to be the final and ultimate representation, of what we hope to accomplish with the project. We have chosen Wegner Motor Sports to be our Engine Builders, for the project. If you came to the Nickey Chevy Vette Fest Nationals, you could have seen some of the actual engines and components, which we plan to include with our project. Wegner has tested both Supercharged as well as Naturally Aspirated engines which can meet or exceed the advertised HP ratings (at the flywheel). In fact, we will be offering some of these special Nickey Serialized engines (for off road use only) as complete ready to install long block assemblies! An integral key component for the project is still missing. This is an actual car, for us to work with. The sooner we have that available the sooner we can answer some of the questions, which have been presented. There are some things we can discuss and some which we can not. However; I will do my best to answer your questions, regarding this project. quick questions--if someone wanted to have you work some magic on their new camaro--do you advise they get a more affordable base model and spend their money on your upgrades? Can you ball park what someone could expect from a 15-30K investment to nickey? and do you have any recommendations on the minimum model of camaro someone should purchase before modifying? Tim |

There are a couple of options, depending on the intended/ultimate use.
GM has just introduced their Camaro "Body" program for Racers. The MSRP we have been quoted is $7,000.00, for just a body. We have professional "Racing" Teams/Customers who will want to build from that basic platform. These are non VIN'd bodies and are for off road/competition use only. The platform we will use to build our Standard Nickey Conversion cars from will be the Manual Transmission SS model. This will be the most efficient and cost effective approach. |

welcome to the forum Nickey Chicago. I cant wait to see what products that you make available. I hope there will be individual parts as well as the large conversion stage kits. As well, even though I know you will specialize on the SS models, I hope you dont leave the 6's in the cold. Starting with 304 hp isnt peanuts.
p.s. On a personal note, I love having a page that gives access to communicate with GM and parts specialists. It makes you feel like your voice is really being heard and that you not only have an opinion on what is available for the camaro from GM, but what will be available for the camaro once we receive it.

You can do all of this stuff to your own car with more power for less money, especially if you are willing to get your hands dirty. The only way I could even see this car being worth it is if it had a bumper to bumper warranty. |
