Also, I'm a little leary of the big top end runs. I thought everything was great and safe as is. But let someone's tire go at 120+ or whatever and it will be over soon. Plus side by side is the best, you get all the grudge matches and just lots more fun.

OK!
Got some news on insurance. Event insurance for Drag racing for two days with approximately 70 total people (over both days) would be about $500 total. That is basically $1,000,000.00 in liability coverage if we, the event promoters, are found negligent. Also the property owners can sign on to our policy so they would be covered as well. In a nut shell, here's how it works. If we are found negligent... Say we "Green Light" a race while there is a car on the track and we cause an accident, then the policy would cover us up to $1,000,000.00 Now if someone loses control and puts the car into a tree or into a ditch. That is their fault and they'd have to cover the losses. So, the good news is we can provide reasonable protection to the property owner and ourselves. Next is to get permission to continue to use that airfield. I Think SickSS is running that down. I have an application for insurance in my email. So whenever we are ready We can do it. One step closer.

I agree. For some of the cars that get up to 150+ its going to be very dangerous.

I don't think so. I think we can do just a total number of days we want covered.
Not sure how that drives the price.... For now I was thinking we could shoot for one or two weekends a month to see if we can get enough interest to cover the costs.... or one day a month if we want. The bottom line is we can get insurance for however many days we want. Now we just need permission to use that field. ah hem... Jon.....

good stuff! I'm in for the cost, don't think it should be much if we all pitch in....that is of course, depending on how much the owner of the strip wants for us using the track.

I checked the local EMS services here in Jax, All are by the hour none do flate rates for an all day deal.
I asked for an Abulance staffed with both a Paramedic and a EMT for four hours. Found that Liberty Ambulance Service is willing to do it for 115.00 and hour if we book four hours and 100.00 and hour if we book eight hours. the others I called all are 150.00 and hour, no breaks.
