Malcolm, I just know the guys from being on the forum at jaxracing, but thats where most (if not all) the FCR guys are. I know from them talking, lots and lots of time and money have been exhausted trying to make a 1/4 mile track a reality in NE Florida.

Well, lets start small, and inexpensive.

Prove that the interest is there, and maybe turn the airfield into a 1320 some day.

I tend to agree. the market and the jax area is ripe for a local 1/4 mile armature setup.

Yeah.. i am sure a lot of our guys at automotive addicts would be willing to do what it takes to secure a spot we can lay down some rubber.

Do you know the guy personally? I know in your last post you said you didn't know who owned it. Have you had a chance to talk to him about the track? Besides the fact that he told you he doesn't want us on it. Did you or him mention anything about leasing it? Do you think he would be down to lease it?

Jon if nothing else rent the spot back there 2 days a month say 12 hours a day. People could meet up earlier there, maybe a "car show/meet" then running 'em later on. So we would need the place a total of 24hrs a month.

Time and days don't matter as of right now. We will just have to see what the owner wants and his requirements are for usage.

Well it looks like a no on the airstrip. I talked to John Brown today and the owners have about 10 other clubs that all want to use the strip but they are not letting anyone use it. I am going to email him some info. He said he would present it to them again but not to get my hopes up.

Hey, that's a start. I really think if we can show them that we are willing to provide liability protection and limit the number of people, we could sway them.

I'm staying positive. Lets get a few people together and have a sit down over lunch somewhere and get a short point/white paper and possibly a power point ready.

Nothing overly fancy or showy, but concise and professional.

I'm still feeling good about this.

Sorry about the holdup on my end guys. Flew over 9 hours yesturday and am now sick. I am actually sick in quarters minimum 2 days for bronchitis. I will get back on to the backup plan as soon as I get better.

It was purchased for development but EPA shut it down because of the oil they put on the dirt track. All the concrete has been ripped up. But the land is still empty. An can not be built on for anything but a track. It was purchased for 5 million.
