When we were teenagers,we would look in the window of a muscle car and say,"it's a f...ing auto," and walk away. That's how Amerricans feel about a bad ass car.
right!..it's a f88king "slush" box!..ohhh!..my god!..what the hell ever for!..in this car?..(w.t.f!)

I drive a manual because I PREFER A MANUAL. That's it. I like the fact that my engine slows me down when I let off the gas, I like knowing exactly what gear I'm in and having control over being at 2000RPM or 6000RPM.

I rented the automatic once (even if it was only the V6), and I completely enjoyed the automatic and paddleshifters... great fun.

Would I still buy a Camaro if it was only available in automatic? Probably, but I'd have to think about it for awhile. If given a choice, I simply love driving with full control. The "M" mode or whatever it's called on the automatics... it goes a long way to bridging the gap between having full control and allowing the computer to take over. I like it.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with automatics. If I lived in LA, I'd want one for traffic for sure.
anybody can just cruise around with the 'slush" box!..hell!..if ya gonna do that, then why buy a camaro?..just get a malibu,or (heaven forbid!) an impala!..(lol!)..having 'complete" control over a car with this kind of power is part of the fun and mystique!..can't duplicate that with the "slushomatic"
(lol!)

they truly are!..the computer is STILL in control!..NOT you!..they are designed to "simulate" the "manual" experience!..ha ha..that's a joke!..right?..

I agree. The problem is, the Camaro is NOT a sports car.

You want a sports car, go to Nissan and get the 370.

If the Manual vs Auto argument and the Sunroof vs No Sunroof argument got in a fight, which would win?

Umm, define a "sports car"? The Camaro is technically a Pony car, very similar to the muscle car. Muscle/Pony cars and sports cars are two different things. We can move to this arguement since the auto vs man has been WELL played out.

Here it is straight from Wikipedia.

Muscle car is a term used to refer to a variety of high performance automobiles.[1][2] At its most widely accepted the term refers to American 2-door rear wheel drive mid-size cars quipped with large, powerful V8s, and sold at an affordable price for street use and drag racing, formally and informally.[3][4][5][6]
As such, they are distinct from two-seat sports cars and expensive 2+2 GTs intended for high-speed touring and road racing.

I've been smoking some Marlboro lights 100's, since you asked.

WOOT !!! Round Two ... This also is very subjective as well. The term muscle and mid-size kinda changes year by year. For example the Grand Prix / LeMans / Tempest all completely change from mid 60's to late. Also there were other cars built on the same frame, some were considered Muscle cars, while others were not ... For example, Monte Carlo, Grand Prix, Cutlass, Skylark, GTO, LeMans, Grand Am and the list goes on ... Which ones would you consider Muscle cars ...

Seriously guys? Are we really going to discuss weather or not the camaro is a sports car?

I own a website...PONYCARcamaro.com

I named it that for a reason.
