I received status as of today for above at 1100. What is average time that order stays at 1100 status. Order was placed on 6-29-10. I would think in 3 weeks, it would have moved somewhere.

Yea, steve. That's really too bad. Push your dealer to get an allocation. Ordered on the 15th, went to 2500 on the 20th. Waiting for TPW now.

These guys are correct. It's all about allocation and how soon the dealer can place your order. Good Luck and keep us posted.

First things first, GM has a very strict policy against dealers stealing orders from another dealer that doesn't have an allocation.

So, no dealer should encourage you to cancel your current order and reorder with them.

Now, having said that.

You as the buyer have the right to cancel your order and order from another dealer.

If you, on your own, decide you'd rather not wait and go with a dealer who has an allocation, you are free to do so as a consumer.

I personally think it is crappy of a dealer to place an order and not explain to you the allocation constraints.

If, you like the dealer you are working with then I'd say hang in there. There is no need to burn a bridge you don't have to.

If not, then you have a way out of this waiting game.

Either way your dealer should know when their next allocation is. So you should be able to get a rough idea of how much longer you will have to wait.
