Becky - my dealer says they don't have access to that information. I'd really like to get a history of the car's status over time, including the build date. Something similar to the realtime status codes that were available as it was being built. Is that available?

Well I spent 5 weeks with one dealer "waiting for Allocation". Learned my lesson, and started going from dealer to dealer and would not buy through them unless they had and guaranteed they would push my order through. Then called them Thursday evening (orders go in on Thursday) to ask the status… did not get a call back. So called then again today. Got the owner, who controls Allocation. He said order went in and was at 2000.
So I think:
1) let them know you know your codes,
2) Do not give a deposit unless they say they have allocation for you
3) Then call, call, call until your order moves.

They do have access. The dealer goes to GM Global Connect under
order workbench, Manage Inventory tab, Vehicle order inquiry. They type in
the order # or last 8 of the VIN# and when the info comes up, they click on
the blue order #, when that comes up, they scroll down to view event history and when that comes up it can be printed. Print this off and take it/send it to your salesperson and have them get it for you. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask.
