Hey folks, I think we're letting everyone get the best of us, so let's just take a deep breath, and pull back.

Remember, forums are a place to DISCUSS topics, so let's keep it that way. As everyone is entitled to their own opinion or preference on a topic, let's do it in a humane way.

Don't forget WE all share the same passion for the car, regardless of trim level, so let's stay positive and help make this the car EVERYONE is going to remember and talk about, for years to come.

CHEVY ROCKS!

O.K. carry on...

I'm not saying the picture is fake, or even that the test mule in the picture doesn't have a 6.2L supercharged V8 under the hood, but this is not remotely any sort of confirmation that an LSA-powered Z28 will be sold as a 2012 model.

There's no indication of the year at all (2012 is a good guess, but it could easily be 2013). [cut for space]

but this is a LONG way off from a "confirmed" 2012 Z28.
well, since there is no indication, other than the "slapped on" sticker, which says 2012 on it, then i guess it must be faked.

while it's not a confirmation of any production plan, it gets the adrenaline pumping. stop pissing in my cornflakes. thankyouverymuch.

Why would GM make an automatic transmission the only choice for the Z28?
for the same reason the challenger did: to save the rear end. all you have to do is take a look at history: gm did it back in the '80s with the 5.7l motor.

there is no need to choose between them. you can have both. for me, the '69 was a must have from the time i was old enough to appreciate cars. now, gm has blessed me again with another beautiful car worth owning. i like all generations of camaro save the 4th. i never could get into them. i could own a 2002 with an LS1, but that would be for the motor alone. gmpp has seen to it that i don't have to make that choice... i can buy an LS1 and put it into a '78 if i want to.

the short of it is, why choose? own as many as you can afford to.

I never said there was anything wrong with Vtec. You on the other hand have clearly been irritated by the use of it in the same sentence as Mustang.

I'm not here to argue with you over immature comments. There's no need for bashing, it only tarnishes the Camaro5 name and what it represents to real enthusiasts that post here. Control yourself, there really is no need to represent Camaro5 in this manner.
You made a point of trying to discredit me because you're touchy about the term "Vtec Mustang" admittedly a mild poke at the embracing of Japanese technology by Ford. It is ironic that you're now cally me immature. I'm not "bashing" anything, nor do I "represent" Camaro5. I appreciate the Mustang for what it is. You need to get over the inferiority complex and lighten up, and ditch the fanboi mentality.

I'm glad GM is going to embrace VVT and DI. I'm also very happy they will do it with a pushrod engine, which is the traditional champion of the musclecar world, the epitomy of domestic, the genuine American and the world's fastest, lightest and most compact V8 engine design.

I do like the exhaust though. Glad that setup is a consideration.

Also the converted SS's will probably drop in value more than a Stock SS would... For the most part unless it is one of the specialty makers like the old yenkos and such. Just dropping a supercharger on an SS is going to lower the value more than what an an average SS will in a few years..

Every 500+ hp car GM has ever offered has had a manual transmission so I wouldn't be too worried.

I took delivery of my 2SS one year ago today and have thouroughly enjoyed every minute since then. I feel for all those who will wait another year and a half to buy their first 5th Gen just so it has a Z on the side (and a warranty). Hey, to each their own. I can't wait to enjoy the next 18 months in my supercharged camaro, and YES, it will be worth a lot less than a brand new $50,000+ Z28 (and the warranty will be almost expired).

That's the point. Worth every minute, LS, RS, SS don't wait, get one as soon as possible (you won't regret it).

Hope they make the Z28 up to everyone's expectations!
