I'm in for a donation! If we have a peoples choice award just something simple to add to the fun, we could also earn a little bit more for Riley's like Mike Norris suggested. Maybe have a jar for donations where you can vote on a car for a quarter. Vote as many times as you want, the more votes the more money. I personally could care less about trophies, but if it's to earn money for a great cause, well, that's different! I would like to see a suggested date in August so we can all mark it on our calendars.

I am waiting to get final approval from Sam's Club before I try to suggest a date. They seemed open to the idea but wanted to see a list of details first. I should be able to get this to them tomorrow, and hopefully then we can start talking about a date!

And if we do a People's Choice, should there just be one or a top 3, top 5, etc.

only one Peoples Choice (keep it simple). The more money you donate, the more you get to vote.. I like that.

Totally agree! FYI- if the Sam's thing doesn't pan out we could check with Penske Chevy about doing something too. I was talking with one of their sales guys on Monday and he told me that they've been thinking of doing a Camaro event.

Yeah tell Penske that Hare Chevy is one up on them. They had a very nice meet for us on July tenth with 40+ cars showing up. It was a blast! Then we camarovaned over to Hooters in Castleton. Boy the looks we got on the road with all the Camaros! See if Penske can one up them! LOL!

For the Sam's club event, I like the peoples choice award too and donating to Riley so they get ALL the money! I just love getting to meet everybody and show off my baby!

Penske is already in talks with me about doing something. I have to meet with Gene (probably tomorrow) to discuss. They are interested in starting a Chevy Sports Car Club of some sorts. More details to follow.

COOL!

And as far as this car show idea.... I went to one at our county fair on the 11th, and they did peoples choice for the awards. Anybody that wanted to could vote, and at the end of the day they handed out trophies to the top ten vote getters, I thought that was a cool way of judging a car show.

OK this thread is officially back from the dead! I FINALLY heard back from Sam's Club and they are willing to host us. Unfortunately, with it being so late in the year they are looking at doing this some time in the spring. They also said I should give them a list of details. . . funny, I thought I already did that.

So if anybody is still following this thread, feel free to post any other idaes you may have come up with in the past couple months since anyone has posted in here!

I will also post in the Indiana Camaro Club thread to give an update in there.

Wow, I had just about given up on this since no one had replied since my last post. However, if people are still interested I am sure I can get something worked out for this spring or early summer. As I posted before, I did get permission to host an event there and I still have the proposal form I gave them saved on my computer and will probably have to let them see it once more, but I think I can get this going again.

If anyone is still interested in this please post in this thread, but I will also do a reminder post in the C5 Indiana Camaro Club thread just in case.

I actually work at Riley, as a member of the IT group associated with the Dept. of Pediatrics. I'd be happy to participate in this event.

However, I'd also suggest getting with as many local groups (Southside Mustangs already does an event for Riley). You might be able to do a co-promotion or something along those events. If you can avoid duplicating the work, why not?

As for me, I can post up something with the Indy Grand Prix group, as I'm a former member. I'll duplicate this post in that thread too..
