2011 Seat Height corrected, 2010 Nothing? Class Action??

OK I was at the dealer today for a Service air bag light.

I get a key for a 2011 and pull my car next to it.
Sit in 2011 Passenger seat - I'm 3/4" higher than my 2010 seat.
Go back and forth a few times to make sure I'm right, 2011 then 2010.

A service adviser comes walking by and I ask him: Is it me or did they raise the passenger seat height for 2011?
He states they did, by installing a new modified seat track assembly and rear brace on the passenger side. He said there is nothing for the 2010 to correct ours.
Now I'm thinking, same car, same chassis, what is it going to take for GM to correct our 2010 passenger seats A Class Action Lawsuit???
I sure hope not. I'm tired of driving around with two Beach towels on my passenger seat to build it up for my passengers! Every time I get in the car it calls this problem to mind when I look at the seat.

I'm baffled at the "problem" some people have with the passenger seat. It's really ridiculous.

Didn't know they changed this for 2011. Interesting.

I did not know that they raised the seat on the 2011. Guess we're stuck with the low seat on our 2010's.

So the 2011 is a little different then the 2010....this does not constitute a lawsuit. The only thing a class action suit does, is put alot of money in the attorney's pockets.

well alot of members here have complained of the passenger seat being too low for passengers.
To the op, nice find, i sure hope we can get our 2010's passenger seat raised.

So year to year improvements are forbidden now?

Really? A class action lawsuit over 3/4 of an inch for a passenger seat?

Sorry, but GM will give you no time, which is a polite way of saying "go pound sand".

So you mean in a 2011 I won't fit? It's funny how vertically challenged people think this car sits low. Not singling you out toocool5 but thats a big complaint from allot of shorter people. If you ask anyone over 6'5 they will tell you they don't go low enough, it's all due to the chopped greenhouse that makes the car look like a custom hot rod. If that's the case anyone over 6'5 waiting to buy need to run to a dealership and decide if they can live with the difference. If they can't they should try to get a 2010 off he lot before they are gone. I understand it's the passenger seat but height tends to run in families.

Class action lawsuit. Interesting. You should also sue them for not having HUD in the 2010s while you're at it.

is 3/4 of an inch really going to make or break the deal?

unbolt the passenger seat. put a 3/4" shim on the floor, bolt it back in using 3/4" longer bolts..... there you go, you now have a 2011 without HUD :applause:

Come on now.
GM tells us we can't modify our seats but provides no alternative, then views it as a large enough problem for the 2010's to make a change in 2011.
The complaint came after the 2010's shipped and were produced... so they addressed it... in the 2011 cars. Trade yours up for a 2011 if 3/4" bothers you that much. For me, I'd still like to see adjustable seats for the passenger. Let them choose their own height.

But this is what's wrong with this country and the world in general. Let's just sue everyone for everything. Next time I run to Subway and get a sandwich I'm going to sue them if they don't give me enough veggies or skimp on the cheese... maybe I'll sue this website because they don't have enough smilies. Especially ones to show someone how ridiculous they are being.

ok?

I guess I just don't understand. Do they NEED to see over the hood?

I've had people as small as 5'2" sit in my passenger seat. Never heard a peep out of them about sitting too low.
