Talking Hello Camaro5 Members!

Before I go deep into my rant I would like to apologize in advance for the rambling lol, but im excited

Ive been lurking these threads for about two weeks now and ive made one post, but I don’t want to continue posting without formally introducing myself to the community. You see, I am a moderator on a site called sneakerplay where sneaker lovers, collectors and enthusiast participate in threads, sneaker battles and sneaker galleries (similar to the "garage's" on this site) to display their collections. So I know what/how a tight knit community looks/feels and I feel like camaro5 forums are definitely top notch. Btw, if any of you have an interest (it doesn’t even have to be a love lol) in sneakers I invite you to take a look at sneakerplay where I am currently the manager of the community and one of three moderators.

Moving on…

I recently purchased a 2010 2LT RS Camaro after the car that I was driving for 5 years died on me and after I took a two week vacation to south carolina myrtle beach and rented a camaro to take me on my travels. Not only was I wanting a new car for the past year or two but I am also a general motors driver, over the past ten years, ever since I got my license... My first car was a 1995 monte carlo, my second car was a 1992 cadillac deville and my third car was a 1993 buick lesabre, I put about 120K miles on all 3 cars combined and all of them were given to me by my father.

My father is very against buying new cars nyc resident of 65 years, greatest public transportation system out there, he loves his used cars and refers to new ones as “depreciating assets” and “enslavement to debt”... I knew that my next car would be 100% my own responsibility because he made me fully aware when i was 23 and i got the buick that this was the last car that would come from him and i had no intentions on buying a used car...

I’ve been out of college for about 5 years now and I’ve been working at my job for a little over 4 years, I’ve wanted a car for a couple of years and my fiancé is a manager for enterprise so over the past 2.5 years I’ve driven/been in A LOT of cars and managed to avoid a car note by settling for the satisfaction that came from those company cars lol... Never once have I ran across a car that made me want to sign my life away, shes had a; 300, charger, impala, murano, g37, ram 1500s, silverados, altimas, maximas, jettas, every month or two its something new...

I always enjoyed the fact that my used car was paid off and that I had all this extra spending money to do whatever I wanted; party/hangout, buy sneakers and clothes, take vacations, etc. Plus it didnt hurt that she had access to all these company cars. I would just fix my used car as the repairs came during the course of the year and didnt think much of it. I didn’t want a car payment to cut into my budget in any way, even if I would still be able to some what live the way I was use to.

That all changed when I rented that Camaro in May 2010, that ALL changed!

I recently purchased my car on July 3rd and I must admit that at first I would look out the window everyday and after I would stop smiling for about ten mins, I would think to myself “what have you gotten yourself into?” lol… but ever since I came across camaro5.com I must say that you guys have made me so happy to be a camaro owner, back behind the wheel of a Chevrolet , the car that started it all for me (I put about 50K miles on that monte carlo in 3 years btw lol).

I waited until today to introduce myself for a reason... When I purchased the car it took me about 5 days to realize that one of the day time running lights (fog light) and blinking indicator (same side) wasn’t working. So I took it to the dealership a few days later for them to check out and while they had the car in their possession they accidently put a dent in the bumper . They’ve had it ever since that day and they put me in a 2010 silverado to hold me down in the mean time. It took them three tries on the bumper before they could even get to the original problem and now after 1.5 weeks in their shop I finally got my car back… picked it up this morning and flew to work! Damn it feels good to be back behind the wheel gripping that leather ...

Hello everyone and I look forward to gaining A LOT of knowledge from this forum!
