Caddy CTS-V Gas Mileage = Z/28 gas mileage?

I know that there are a few members on this forum that have CTS-V Caddy's. I noticed that the EPA gas mileage for the CTS-V is 12 mpg city and 18 mpg hway. I was wondering how close these numbers are to real life considering that it is looking more and more like the Caddy LSA engine will power the Z/28?

I'm thinking roughly the same... how close are the cars in weight?

Doesn't Obama's new MPG regulations go into effect next year? If so, I guess the gas guzzler tax is on tap for the Z

Ok, thanks for that!!! Next question? would you happen to know how much that is and is that at time of purchase or at registration renewal?

If i remember right... its $3K on the CTS-V sedan. I'm not sure about the Coupe. My guess is it won't be as much on the Camaro since the Camaro is cheaper.

the good news is (atleast here), you don't have to pay the gas guzzler tax on a used car...

that's completly nuts...

i'd like to know why the 5.4L supercharged engine with 6 less hp in my GT500 can manage 23mpg on the freeway but the LSA can't...

doesn't seem to make much sense.

//edit

maybe has something to do with both the size of the engine and the 40 less lbs of tq in the shelby?

this is also in the CTS-V sedan which is a much heavier car. That could make a huge difference.

I think the Caddy is about 300 pounds more. I hope there is not a gas guzzler tax on the Z/28. That is not something that I took into consideration.

I'd be willing to bet the Z/28 will have it. Somehow the LS3 SS barely missed getting it.

The taxes are paid by GM but usually passed along to the first buyer.

Until we know the weight of the Z28 it will be hard to speculate on gas mileage.

I am thinking the Z will get hit with the gas guzzler tax though.

23 on the highway? I never got close to that. I was 18-19. Weird...

Either way, Gas guzzler tax sucks ball sack. Stupid EPA.
