Car and Driver SLAMS Mustang Convertible

Has anyone read the review of the Mustang Convertible in the Sept. '10 Car and Driver?

Basically, they repeatedly bashed the car for its lack of structural rigidity and made it sound like it's made out of Jello. They blamed Ford's effort to keep the weight down at the expense of rigidity. I can only imagine how much worse the GT500 convertible (with its stiffer suspension and more aggressive wheel/tire combination) must be.

I am waiting (in)patiently for the Z28 convertible. I sure hope that its extra weight represents muscle (and, therefore, greater structural rigidity) and not just fat. If the Z28 convertible shakes and quivers like the 'Stang, I may need to rethink everything.

Ford cannot be happy about that article.

The Camaro vert looks more solid than the stang, but will be less so than the Camaro coupe. Besides Corvette, when was the last time Chevy built a convertible?

GM has had a few (G6, Solstice/Sky). Chevy had the SSR for a while.

They were pretty nice looking and for the price there wasn't much competition that was a whole lot better.

every generation of the cavalier, and its pontiac twin the sunbird (later sunfire) had a convertible option, but they were killed off shortly before they were replaced with the Cobalt/G5.
