Yeah, don't know or care about all that. The new Camaro is huge, the addition of the convertible and then the Z28 is just gonna keep that freight train rolling.
Basically with the Mustang what you see is what you got until the new design.

Ya, but you also need to factor in that Ford is offering 0% financing for 72 months on the Mustang. You are NOT going to see that offer for a Camaro anytime soon. And the convertible and Z28 will help distance GM far away (IMO) from the competition.

Hype produces interest, and interest leads to buying. Do you honestly think the Camaro would sell as much as it has without all the hype surrounding it?

Yeah, but I agree with ViperTomcat, that won't lead to sales today.

The Camaro did have a lot of hype, but I tend to think it was the ability to deliver on the hype that put it where it is right now. Obviously the convertible option will be a known quantity as far as performance, but the Z28 still needs to live up to the hype or it won't sell well (especially at it's price).

So I think there are people who are planning on getting the convertible already, but folks are only considering the Z28 right now.

You're right that interest is good, I just don't see it converting to sales unless the Z28 stands out like the Camaro did. And of course, if the Z28 does perform up to expectations, then watch out.
